As murmurs of a brand new album Rihanna intensified in the last week, the Grammy winning trendsetter was snapped on her way into a Long Beach recording studio.
Hitting the spot shortly after returning from NYC, the Pop Princesses’ sighting did everything but dispel reports she is the preliminary stages of crafting a new LP, six months after the release of ‘Unapologetic’.
However, one day after her reported studio session, she took to her personal Instagram page to weigh in on these reports, as seen below…

Of course, while the more clueless of her fan base may have bought her denial, her response to today’s report seemed- at least to us- ‘false’.
For, in what has become an overlooked fact in the entire matter, it was the reputable Darkchild who first brought attention to the forthcoming release- only confirming what anyone whose followed Rihanna’s trend knows to be true.
Like seriously…are we to believe that after releasing an LP in 2010, 2011 and 2012 there are no plans to follow these up with an LP in 2013?
Then again, if the vocalist intends to turn over a new leaf and actually contribute to her next album, she may be right in saying a 2013 release date is out of the question….if you know what we mean.

If she were that thirsty for a hit, she could easily call up Dr. Luke, RedOne, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Max Martin, will.I.am and play follow-the-leader for some corny throwaway microwave popcorn hit that’ll smash today (but be forgotten in 5 years). And all of them would probably jump to work with her if she asked. She could also churn out generic, soulless, producer-driven albums every year that sort of run into each other and have no real identity for quick sales like Rihanna does. That’s not how you create a legacy and quality body of work, though.
Beyonce has talent, and people with talent tend to take their time with projects and make music that compliments & showcases their talent. It’s talentless dime-a-dozen pop tarts like RIhanna who don’t care, will jump on any trend/fad and use any means necessary to keep their name out there, and will let their record labels w**** their name with front loaded new albums ad nausem for the sake of squeezing out every out of market juice available.
