Despite a loaded list of features aboard his fourth studio album ‘IV Play’ (Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Jay-Z, Big Sean, etc), hip hop hitmaker The Dream hopes to sail and sell his latest video.
Granting visual stats to the title track from the May 28th-due album, the ‘Falsetto’ crooner tapped famed video director X to bring the hot-and-heavy slow jam to life.
Need a dose of big booty heauxs and unnecessarily sexually explicit lyrics? Well, looks like this is just what the doctor ordered:
While the video leaves much to desired, we can’t deny that this song bumps! Very much an ode to the Silk and R. Kelly jams of 90s past, tunes like this – despite their empty subject matter – do sonically give us hope that real R&B is on its way back to charts.
If acts like The Dream are willing to contribute to its resurgence with numbers like ‘IV Play’, we can definitely look forward to more R&B play on Billboard charts.
P.S. – Is it just us or were there times where The Dream actually sounded like he was singing for real? Or, is autotune just that good?
I’m here for the Beyonce collab
It’s cute. Video was interesting. I like the song, I felt like I was being taken back to the 90s 🙂
Liking the Jodeci feel he gave to parts of the song.
Throwback sounds and arrangements had me listening.
Mmmmmm! Im feeling the video and I like the song a lot!
