As his debut EP ‘Bijoux 22′ continues to find room in many a Weeknd, Drake and Jhene Aiko led playlist, this week has Pepsi Co pour support for Elijah Blake!
Indeed, so impressed were the multinational company by his work, today saw them announce their first endorsement of the understated soloist.
Details below….
Joining ‘Standing on The Sun‘ performer Beyonce and ‘Gun Shot’ MC Nicki Minaj in winning the brand’s support, Elijah has now been named their ‘Who’s Next’ artist, in celebrating his fan driven ascent to notoriety in the last year.
Reportedly handpicked by their board of directors to land the coveted spot, the 23 year old scored the full support of the Indra Nooyi driven company well before the release of his debut album, ‘Songs About Melody’, addressed during an interview with Pepsi Pulse last week.
While there’s still no word on how far their endorsement of the performer will go, Blake joins a long line of male entertainers to be welcomed into the brand’s family…Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake being two of them.
As an act whose already made major waves in R&B , it’s safe to say the coming months will see shortage of Elijah in all arenas (see forthcoming Kanye/Bono collab).
Of course, while there’s no telling how well his debut LP will fare commercially, the growing buzz he’s scoring as an act whose cause is rooted in the music will give him no choice but to score big come its release.
Until then…
