Adele found herself in good company yesterday, when she caught up with Jay Z at the Music Visionary of the Year Luncheon in New York.
Arriving to celebrate and honour the work of Columbia Records boss Rob Stringer, the ‘Cold Shoulder’ singer also spent the evening with ‘Made To Love‘ genius John Legend, Neil Diamond, Haim and John Mayer, all of whom attended to support Stringer as he picked up the ‘Visionary of the Year’ award!

So when do we stop kissing Adele’s ass because if we are being honest, 21 is not that great. It sold purely on hype IMO.
Anyway why does Jay-Z get invited to gigs that have to do with music, Jay-Z does not have a single artist on his roster who is an actual success, and don’t even mention Rihanna because she is signed with Island DefJam and her success is credited to her and LA Reid.
LA Reid shouldn’t hang around illiterate ex drug dealers because they cannot succeed, same way eagles don’t hang around chickens because chickens cannot fly.
Jay-Z will do to you what he almost did to Obama, drag you down.
Jay Z is actually a very smart guy. You sound dumb calling someone like him illiterate if you actually know what it means.

Nope, I agree with you honey. It has nice songs but it’s not that great. The songs are very cheesy and boring and all sound pretty much the same. But her success is really amazing, I mean 25+ million albums today is something that no one can do beside her.
Oh shut up please. Its tooooo damn early for your complaining. Adele’s album “21” sold 26 million copies within 2 years because it had a great old school 1960s sound. Her voice is RAW & Classic SOUNDING. “Rolling In The Deep” sounded like a hit from Aretha or Carol King from the 1960s. “Someone Like You” sounded like a huge instant classic heartbreak ballad with a chorus to remember. The rest of the album was ok but its the fact that she had great promo & ultimately her VOICE made people buy that depressing album. I only purchased “Rolling In The Deep”, “Rumor Has It”, “Set Fire To The Rain” (Live Version) & “Someone Like You”. Those songs alone with a voice & style like hers would make many elderly folks BUY her music.

As far as hype, no one is hyped as Adele Amy winehouse even (who sang better and more meaningful songs) to me, everything adele does sounds similar

“Come Away With Me” sold 26 million worldwide.
“Feels Like Home” sold 12 million worldwide
“Not Too Late” sold 4 million worldwide
If people keep hoping for Adele’s demise and comparing her to Norah Jones, guess what? Looks like Adele will be selling 12 million worldwide of her 3rd album. And this, once again, will slaughter her competition.

But its still a drastic decrease. Im not saying Adele wont sell be she will never live up to the hype of 21 era. And all the sales havent really helped Norah Jones because she is now kind of irrelevant. And Im not HOPING for anyones demise, like I said before I do like her. Its just what I can see happening.
@Marley, Norah Jones is on Blue Note Records. A JAZZ record label. Do you actually think she, in her wildest dreams, ever expected to sell 26 million copies of “Come Away With Me?” I think we can safely say, no, she didn’t. She has 16 Grammy Nominations and has won 9 times. She is very respected within the music industry. That IS her relevance. She is a musician, not a pop artist.
Same with Adele. OF COURSE her next albums is not going to sell 26 million WW–who would think otherwise? Because she is being used by stan bases now, people want to talk about her in terms of Katy Perry, Rihanna, etc…when she actually has NOTHING in common with them.
19 is a better album than 21. 21 took off. Rarely does this happen twice. Everyone knows this.
What I love about Adele :
– Her career relies on pure talent, musical creativity.. No generic s** tracks, no naked IG pics, no antics, no gimmicks, no tricks, no $0.5/1/2 discounts . . and ends up selling 25 millions off one album in less than 2 years.
– Not a money-obsessed b****, she’s satisfied with whatever she’s having…
– Doesn’t get involved in complicated fuckery that’ll mess up her clear image in the industry . . She just focuses on her music and nothing else
– Very real, down-to-earth, with a beautiful heart . .

Well . . for her music, I think “19” is light years better than “21” (which’s kind of overrated IMO) but I guess it simply lacked the commercial appeal “21” had . .
But it’s still my 3rd favorite album ever, anyway, the first two being Frank Ocean’s CO And NU.
