Retro Rewind: Beyonce Performs At Nelson Mandela’s ‘46664’ Concert

In celebrating the tenth anniversary of her debut album ‘Dangerously In Love’, TGJ has billed this week ‘Beyonce Week‘ and has seen us showcase some our favorite moments from the album’s era everyday since Monday.

Today, in what also sees us celebrate one of our heros Nelson Mandela, we unearth footage pulled from 2003’s ‘46664’ concert, named after the prison number Mandela was given when he imprisoned in 1964 and launched to spread awareness for HIV/AIDS in South Africa.

Inspiring to say the least, Beyonce‘s time there saw her meet and aid those affected by the disease up and down and the country, donating time, money and a voice to those who needed it most.
