Cheryl Cole Teases New Album

Published: Friday 5th Jul 2013 by David

Cheryl Cole is back!

Well…not yet. Earlier today, in teasing fans with the possibility of a fourth studio album, the entertainer took her personal Instagram page to share an image of herself in the studio- recording new material.

More below…

We can’t wait to see what she cooks up.

In saying that, here’s hoping this campaign is handled better than her last three, and sees Cole soar with the entire album, and not just its lead single.

As a vocalist, she’ll always fall short- but the most disappointing aspect of Cole’s cause lies in her inability to spot her own potential as a serious commercial act.

For, in following in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce, Cheryl’s solo career has seen her use her aesthetic and popularity to nab a lucrative deal with Agon’s L’Oreal- force feeding her name to the masses via commercials that both endorse her and its product.

Unfortunately, while Lopez and Carter use their deals to reinforce interest in their music, Cheryl uses hers to reinforce interest in her personality and stock as a celebrity.

Unfortunate, as the size of the UK market could literally see her monopolize the scene if her stock as a celeb was used to push an album filled with ‘Call My Name‘s, ‘Overdose’s and ‘Where Have You Been‘s.

Indeed, when one thinks of how many magazine she’s sold on the back of her personal life, it’s hard not to imagine how many more units she could shift per single/album if those magazine spreads were used to plug her music.

Bring on album #4!
