Omarion turns up the heat on a brand new cut today, billed ‘Bumpin’ & Grindin’!
Guitar led and produced TeeFLii, the jam sees him tackle familiar territory- so much so that it’s more generic than a genius. A shame, considering the potential Urban classic that was ‘MIA‘.
Meet an underwhelming O below…
What is it with today’s batch of R&B hopefuls, and their need to assert themselves as ‘real n*gga’s.
While ‘MIA’ saw O whip up a moody R&B jam worthy of his would be veteran status, the number above has us wondering if we’ve been overestimating his potential in the last few years.
For, had you asked us yesterday, we’d have said the performer is only marketing cheque away from being Hip Hop’s leading vocalist….going toe to toe with the likes of Miguel.
Unfortunately, in proving us wrong, he gives the world this, saying nothing of his time in B2K and the run at the top he enjoyed in the earlier part of his solo career.
Perhaps, a few sessions with Noah Shebib and Harmony would see him score the Premium Urban sound he’s in dire need of.
