This October, TLC will welcome the release of their ‘CrazySexyCool’ biopic via VH1.
So, as to turn the movie’s lemons into a commercial lemon meringue, the ladies have announced that they are to release a brand new album via LA Reid‘s EPIC...and welcoming Lil Mama to the group.
Exciting details below…
In no way replacing Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, Mama’s time with the group will see her start with a performance at the Mixtape Festival with her new found pals on July 27th, months before October 15th sees the release of their brand new music!
One week later- on October 21st- the group will welcome the release of their aforementioned biopic, starring Mama as Lisa and directed by ‘Paid in Full’s Charles Stone III.
According to numerous reports, their new release may feature contributions from ‘Practice’ purveyor Drake and will see mark the latest major signing EPIC has made since welcoming LA Reid as its CEO, following the arrivals of Tamar Braxton and R&B Queen Ciara.
Though a new album would be great, perhaps it’d make more sense for EPIC to release a special edition of ‘CrazySexyCool’, which would come with two or three original songs.
For, with it being the name of the movie- and their most recognisable album title to date- there’s a serious opportunity to revive the LP through the movie, raking in a profit that could be used to fund the campaign for an entirely new album in the months to follow.
In saying that, we’d be down for whatever they choose to do, and can’t but commend Reid for getting behind the girls once again!
