Miley Cyrus‘ Urban crusade continues.
The former Disney star seems hellbent on shedding such title; drafting in heavy-hitting Hip-Hop producers to craft her a new sound and image.
However, as any Pop starlet attempting to re-brand will confirm, cries of “contrived” continue to plague the 20-year-old twerker.
In a new interview with Notion magazine (who she also posed it up for), the ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer asserts her work ethic, while waxing honest about misconceptions about herself and plans to become a one-name entity.
Peep quotes and pics below…
On Being Misunderstood:
“People have this misconception of me that I’m just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I’m just this ratchet white girl, and I’m not.
I work really really hard, I’m just in a different environment. I’m young and living and in LA which is everyone’s dream, you know.”
On Dropping Her Surname:
I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley, but there’s something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name.
I’m living it to the fullest. Rather than taking a blessing and making it a curse, it’s just like this is what this name is now.”
Granted Miley’s Urban ambition doesn’t offend us half as much as it seems to everyone else, she easily belongs in the “sing more, talk less” club.
Like, we’re literally “LOL’ing” at how seriously she seems to take herself. The reality of the matter is that people should be able to see how hard she works via her output. If she has to say she “works hard”, she clearly needs to work harder.
