Ending months of speculation, the singer (who ia currently in the midst of the campaign for his second album, ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’) made the announcement himself on Fox‘s NFL Sunday.
The platinum-selling Grammy winner will play the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday, February 2nd 2014. {Source}

Like many, we’re wondering what exactly the criteria is to headline on such a major stage. Because, at this point, it feels like the requirements change with each year. From global popularity, to legend status, to hot shot new talent…it’s all a bit…random.
Really, though, are we the only ones wondering why the likes of Lady GaGa, Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Usher, or even the ball of hype that is Justin Timberlake weren’t offered the slot?
In any case, and in all fairness to Bruno, he’s super talented and is building a catalogue of hits the masses love. Most importantly, he is a proven stage blazer – a fact which is often underrated. Come next February, should he play his cards right and beast in the way the ‘Bowl demands, his star could truly shoot into the stratosphere.

There is no rule that says you have to be a legend to prform there. Many acts with not that long careers have performed and this boy already has several big hits. Only problem is that he doesn´t fit that well I think. He is super talented, also a great performer, always live and all that. But people usually expect dancing and smoke and mirrors when it comes to pop artists at teh Superbowl. But hey rock bands also perform and don´t do those things so… Bruno will be fine.
