The proud winner of X Factor UK‘s ninth season, the singer/songwriter took to Germany’s Radio Hamburg to record his very own version of the hit song, weeks before the release of his Syco backed debut album!

Much to our dismay, the last few years have seen very few British male acts try but fail to enjoy the global acclaim afforded by the likes of Adele and Amy Winehouse, but now- thanks to a voice that oozes honesty- James is on course to reverse that trend.
Far more poignant than the original, James’ take on the cut moved us in ways that give us no choice but to hail him one of the best vocalists to grace Pop this side of the century- soulful, powerful but restrained enough to see his voice take on songs performed by acts who can’t boast of his range…or the richness of his tone.
We love this cover, and we’re sure we’ll love what his debut album serves up come its November 4th release date.

He won a talent competition and although he’s talented lets not act like he is the most talented male U.K singer, he is just currently the one with the spotlight on him and massive promo, there are many others just as good or better so TGJ your accolades were reaching slightly.
Tbh i prefer Mileys version, only for the fact that James can sing and makes you realise how the basic the song is when someone who can sing is singing it
