Since its July 5th 2013 release, Ciara‘s self titled new album has now sold 122,000 units in the US and now floats towards the 200,000 figure worldwide.
Led by its Gold single ‘Body Party‘, the album marks the singer’s third Top Three album in her domestic market and see its Nicki Minaj assisted jam ‘I’m Out’ outperform the bulk of singles released by her closest Urban rivals, enjoying a #44 peak on the Hot 100 and a #12 position in the United Kingdom!
Debuting with first week sales of 115,000 units, Tamar Braxton‘s ‘Love & War’ now enjoys a peak position of #1 on the US Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart and a #2 spot on the Billboard 200 upon its debut.
Since its September 3rd arrival, the TC assisted effort has sold 204,349 units, helped in part by the success of her ‘Braxton‘ centred Reality TV empire and a promotional campaign that’s saw the new mother touch down in Europe and grace the continent with numerous performances and radio interviews.
All of this, boosting the star’s profile and sales in the competitive market.
By way of its lead single of the same name, she can also boast of enjoying a #1 hit on iTunes USA.
Released on June 14th 2013, Kelly Rowland’s fourth studio album ‘Talk a Good Game’ has now pulled in sales of 167,000 units in the US, peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 with debut sales of 68,000 units, no doubt supported by the momentum generated by her tell all number ‘Dirty Laundry’.
No doubt reaping the rewards from her ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ tenure, K.Michelle watched her debut album ‘Rebellious Soul’ turn up to the party with 72,000 units sold in its first week and now skate towards the 200,000 unit figure after hitting the 135,671 mark at the beginning of October.

Rolling in with 96,000 copies sold first week, Keyshia Cole’s critically acclaimed ‘Woman To Woman’ ironically enjoys a lower chart peak than the efforts named above, despite outperforming the bulk of them.

No doubt moved by her moving rendition of the aforementioned ‘Win’ on FOX’s ‘American Idol’, the album’s US sales now sing to the tune of 263,000 units despite the fact that it’s yet to see the single enter the Billboard Hot 100!

Side Effects of You and Yours Truly have both sold over 250k in the US and have received widespread critical acclaim and Two Eleven received near universal acclaim and has sold 200k in the US. Two Eleven could’ve been pushed even harder into 2013 with songs like Let Me Go, Without You and Do You Know What You Have. Keyshia could’ve dropped I Choose You, Woman to Woman or Hey S***. Fantasia has Get It Right, In Deep, Side Effects of You and Change Your Mind. Kelly has I Remember, Down on Love, Red Wine and Love Me Til I Die. And Ciara has the most hits. Overdose, Livin’ It Up, One Night with You, Backseat Love, Super Turnt Up and Read My Lips have so much potential. Hopefully their labels get it together and start promoting these artists the right way instead of paying them dust

As a Kelly fan, I can admit Ciara has seen better success than Kelly. I think Kelly is happy in situation tbh. I think for her to come from a group & the only person that was cared about was the lead, she’s done pretty well for herself, Simply Deep did sell 2.5 million copy ww, you have to think about it, DC was fresh of of Survivor & she was the first to release a solo album + Dilemma was the hottest song out at the time, so she was selling albums then. Ms. Kelly & Ms. Kelly Diva Deluxe combined sold 1.5 million ww, 5 grammys. I’d say she’s done pretty well for herself seeing how no one is “checking” for her.
Poor writing and p*** poor sales (minus Ak). R&B singers should go inde, but won’t cause let’s be real, they can’t write their own songs. They reliy on the machine WAY too much. When artist start taking chances, work with DIFFERENT writers and producers, then R&B will be back. R&B died in 2006.
And don’t bring Bey or Rih in this. They take chances, sounds different from the pack and work with these producers and writers FIRST, and then their them to the pack.

I love myself some Kelly. She is incredibly beautiful & very talented but I have to agree with those who call her lazy…. but only when it comes to her music. She coulda EASILY sat down damn near every R&B chick this era. All the collabos not to mention damn near every track on her album is single worthy but as usual she failed to release them. She should be on single #4 by now & in addition to the songs she’s on from other ppl albums she woulda been slayin the charts. & even her vocals are on point. Her album & Fantasia’s are everything.
Let’s not forget that Alicia and Keyshia’s albums were released a year ago. Tamar’s album was released last month. Flop she is not. Her two singles are already certified Platinum and Gold. Every show she’s booked has been sold out. AND she’s opening for John Legend, whom she outsold. Look at the numbers R&B is pulling in, and the promo they are being denied. Tamar and a lot of other singers on this list have accomplished something just by selling 200,00 on an album.
