Beyonce Blazes Billboard Hot 100 With…’Get Me Bodied’ / Song Achieves New Peak

In an era where artists are making fast food music just to jump from point “A” to “B”, there’s increasing premium attached to songs and albums with long-lasting impact.

Just ask Beyonce.

For, the ‘Single Ladies’ siren is enjoying renewed success with ‘B’Day’ anthem – ‘Get Me Bodied’.

It’s been seven years since the Swizz Beatz cut had the clubs snapping for the kidz and Naomi Campbell Walking. However, the track has staged a remarkable rebound on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 – acheiving a new peak on the tally in the process.

Last week saw a viral video of a Dr named “Deb” dancing to the track (along with surgeons) as she prepared to undergo a double-mastectomy. Haven’t seen it yet? Check it out below…

Currently sitting at 7 million views in less than seven days, the clip clearly renewed interest in ”Bodied’ – as digital sales and streaming have seen the dance-floor jam jump to #46 on this week’s Hot 100. The placing represents a new peak for the track, which had previously climaxed at #68 in 2007. (Note: Much like ‘Upgrade U’, the track has never received a “formal” release and was instead an integral component of Beyonce’s ‘B’Day’ re-release – which included a video anthology)

As one of our favourite King B cuts, it’s great to see the the song back in the spotlight – and because of such an inspiring cause. Good stuff.
