After delivering its music video the world two days ago, Akon‘s ‘Blue’ now finds itself winning over the wallets of the general public, who took to iTunes to show their support of the single in the hours that followed.
It was this support, that has now placed the cut in several Top ten positions in numerous markets, seeing it perched at #4 on iTunes USA R&B, #6 on iTunes’ UK’s Urban tally and #2 in Canada, months before the 2014 unveiling of his new studio album ‘Stadium.’
Elsewhere, before its pre-order sales help it avoid selling any less than 200,000 units in its opening week, Lady GaGa‘s ‘ARTPOP’ continues to dominate many a digital Top Ten across the globe, but finds itself ‘chart blocked’ by Eminem’s ‘Marshall Mathers LP 2.’
For, in what may strike concern into the hearts of her more loyal supporters, ‘POP’ is now being outperformed by ‘Mathers’ on iTunes UK and iTunes USA, despite the latter being in its second week of release. As it stands, the Hip Hop has a healthy chance of topping the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week if its sales continue to soar- threatening to stop ‘POP’ from spending its opening week at the top spot.
