Jessie J Departs Robin Thicke US Tour / Cites Desire To Finish American Album

With talent as pronounced as Jessie J‘s, it’s no surprise that the Pop powerhouse has built quite the fanbase in the US.

However, Stateside supporters of the singer will have to wait a while longer before seeing her take to the stage — it has been announced today.

The 25-year-old ‘Price Tag’ belter was slated to support Robin Thicke on his upcoming North American tour from March; a spot that would have seen her introduce material from her recently released sophomore LP ‘Alive’ to US audiences.

Yet, with the American version of the LP still cooking, J has opted to ensure it’s “well done”. Hence has vacated her spot on the trek.

Details after the jump…

Via Jessie J:

Out of respect to my USA fans I want to be honest. I will not be supporting Robin Thicke on his USA tour. My team and I have decided it’s best I prioritise recording/studio and promo to finish the album for my US fans and having the opp for a single to be released for you sooner than later.

Timing isn’t always perfect but I want to make it work! And hopefully have my own shows in the USA someday! I hope you understand. I’m sorry to all the fans who were coming. I will make it up by making sure you have more of me and my music this year

The album she recently came out with was so disappointing she’s to talented to be singing basic generic like its my party. And shes a fool she could use the exposure tbh

I dont see her doing Pop music anymore, she needs to switch it all the way up and go straight R&B… Clearly thats where her strength is…She could be like the female Justin Timberlake….

Or remember P!nk before she turned completely pop!!! Jessie J could be successful if she finds her lane. and I dont think Pop music has ever been it for her!

  3. MEDIOCRE, BASIC, GENERIC MUSIC RULES!!! January 11, 2014

THAT TOUR WOULD FLOP ANYWAY. HE ALIENATED HIS FANBASE BY RELEASING GENERIC EDM MUSIC AND HIS LATEST ALBUM HASNT EVEN GONE PLATINUM. HIS LAST R&B EFFORT HAS SOLD 1.7 MILLION TO DATE LOL

    FLOPPY J….

You will never headline your own show in the US.

    But I like your effort

It has nothing to do with finishing an album, Robin’s core fan base are Soul music lovers. People that listen to Soul music are Black, Black people are angry at him over the Gaye Estate Lawsuit. This is the beginning of the end for him, he is gonna go back to be Allan’s son or Paula’s husband. White people are still focusing on JT.

Jessie J debut was promising. I remember I was kind of excited cos here we had a new good performer and all that. I liked Do it Like a Dude.
But she quickly went the generic route, to the point this her second album is a disaster, musically so generic and basic. Even with that in mind I´m surprised she flopped even in the UK, after the big success of her first one over there.
Either she changes completely for her next one or this is a goodbye.

Jessie J can sing her ass off. I can tell her heart is in r&b music but she’s doing pop because that’s what sells now days. Such a shame.

Jessie has an incredible voice but her album ‘Alive’ makes you want to kill yourself, its rubbish on all levels and shes to good to be trying to be a poor mans PINK, Pink is in her own lane!

I think coming off the tour is a great idea, re-write and record the entire album for the USA, Miley Cyrus is making better music than Jessie J, thats not a good look, Jessie needs t step her game up and get back on form make the album that we all expect from someone with so much talent and come back with a bang!

Luv Jessie and I was looking forward to seeing her at MSG in NYC!! But understand her wanting to complete her Album for the US – not gonna lie I loved AlIVE – the only issue is Jessie gives us 4/5:6 genres in her albums when we are used to getting one hit repeated 10 times- I hear 5:6 potential hits on Alive as it is so why anyone thinks it needs fixing is beyond me!! I support whatever Jessie does and I’m positive she will be successfully touring America very soon on her own and I look forward to it. Even though I jhave 2 tickets to robins show I hope to sell – I’m happy for her!!
