Yes, perhaps in feeling the heat from unfair criticism launched at her by those who refuse to acknowledge the positive impact she’s made on Pop culture, the star reached new lows hours ago in a fresh bid to push sales of new album ‘ARTPOP.’
Indeed, during her set at this year’s ‘South By South West‘, the Grammy-winning icon- no doubt hoping to dominate headlines the following morning- had a dancer stick her fingers down her throat and proceeded to regurgitate all over the star’s face and body.

Regardless of whatever message she was trying to convey it still came across as desperate and disgusting, if she plans on making a comeback(which she can) there needs to be intelligent individuals on her team cause there is no way anyone with common sense would have let her think it was OK to go on stage and do that.
My interpretation of this performance aligns with the idea that the song is about r*** and rage, as stated by Gaga herself.
If you know someone that has suffered through some form of abuse and experiences a traumatic response (e.g. post-traumatic stress disorder), you’ll know that it’s not pretty. In some cases, this manifests as self-harm in various forms that could include binge-purging.
Together with the intro to the show where a girl was perhaps binging on sausages etc, I think this performance was meant to represent the following narrative: 1. transgression (e.g. r***), 2. rage (e.g. bulimia, self-harm, calling the perpetrator a swine and feeling like a swine yourself) and 3. recovery – hanging up the vomit like a canvas for all to see in the form of art.
