Well obviously if your pressed ass is gonna compare “current ” voices. Mariah sang all over the world. She used her voice way more than this woman.

That isn’t true. Mariah has sang all over the world with mass coverage but Kelly performs a whole lot in the gospel world it just isn’t covered Heavily because it’s gospel. Not to mention the songs Kelly sings since her solo debut (98) has consistently sang harder, more demanding songs all the way up until now in 2014 where she can still do the same stuff she did when she was Singin “someday” behind Mariah. She just took better care of her voice that’s all. No shade or opinion, it’s just the truth. Again, I prefer mariah but I won’t be in denial just cause I love mariah. Real recognize real.
Not to mention Mariah and Kelly Both did duets with Whitney on the “my love is your love album”. When mariah and Whitney performed “when u believe” live it was beautiful and mariah held her ground with Whitney. When Kelly sang “heartbreak hotel” with Whitney AND Faith Evans (another timeless vocalist) she murdered both of them like it was nobodies business NO QUESTION
Sorry gurl… But Miss Care was doing world tours (stadiums in France, Japan, etc) and back to back interviews and televised performances, Christmas Specials, Thanksgiving Specials, etc. she definitely put the work on her voice more than anyone. When Mariah sang with Whitney, we all know she was at the start of her vocal decline. Let’s not go there.
Kelly’s voice is typical big church singer voice. Mariah and Whitney both slay her.
Beyonce has done the same amount of performing and singing, actually much more, and her voice is still in great shape. So again Kelly has taken better card of her gift and can CURRENTLY outsing Mariah and Whitney (before her untimely death RIP). Mariah hasn’t been able to hang on Kelly’s level since about 98′ – live anyway. I love mariah she is one of the greatest EVER but her legacy is what she has now. She is no longer an organic live performer and usually 98% lips some parts. It’s just part of Mariah Carey now and has been since about butterfly. Kelly never lip synchs and always gives you 100% full voice stellar, memorable live SLAYAGE performances. Typical church voice or not give mariah and mic and her a mic at the same time and gurantee mariah won’t even dare try to compete because she knows
And for a good 6 years that Mariah was performing in the studios and live around the world, Kelly was right behind her singing as well.

Mariah and Whitney have something special. Their voices are unique and recognizable. If Kelly dropped a song without her name on it, only a few would know who it is. If Mariah and Whitney did the same, everyone one could easily identify their voices. They have influenced generations. Kelly is just … Meh. She isn’t their. Never has been and never will be.

Kelly Price was right behind Mariah on tours…Kelly Price, Shanrae Price and Melonie Daniels were some of the best background singers she had. I guess they had to turn down their mics cuz they were killing the background vocals.

There’s a reason mariah and Whitney have both duet with Kelly (heartbreak hotel/ through the rain remix) because she is a true singer and the longevity of her voice just surpassed Mariah’s and Whitney’s. Mariah’s golden voice only lasted about 6 years and then she started having issues like 97′. Whitney golden voice lasted about 12 years with her issues starting around 98/99. Kelly’s voice is still in tip top condition and among the true vocalists: Mariah, Whitney, Gladys, Patti, Chaka, Karen Clark-Sheard- Kelly is respected and vocally equal to. Which is why they have all worked with her. You clearly aren’t musically inclined you’re just a biased Stan. I am a lover of music and reality.
And so just as many days mariah was singing back then, Kelly was singing too. Not to mention she had to rehearse with her own sister and Melanie Daniels and the rest of Mariah’s iconic background singers from the early years. She sang a lot as well and still continues to in the gospel world.
It is very funny that you’re saying Mariah’s voice lasted for only 6 years yet you claim to be a fan. A fan knows of Mariah’s vocal nodules.

I like it. Not sure where this fits at radio, but I like it. She’s giving me Mandisa big time, but Mandisa is CLEARLY a gospel artist. This song is affirming and inspirational, but I’m not sure if the lyrics exactly work for contemporary gospel stations, though I hope so. I hope the song doesn’t fall through format cracks and actually gains traction at both urban and inspirational radio.
