One of the many who purchased Ariana Grande‘s ‘Problem’ last week?
If so, you are to thank for helping the Urban Pop starlet set a new record on the ‘Billboard Hot 100‘, solidifying her status as one of Pop’s more commercially promising newcomers.
Impacting the ‘Hot 100′ at #3, 438,000 purchases of the ‘Problem’ hands it highest opening week number for a new single since Katy Perry’s ‘Roar‘ pounced on the chart with 557,000 units in the August of 2013.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey’s ‘Me.I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse‘ suffers a dip in its pre-order sales this week, now sitting at #93 on iTunes US Top 100 Albums tally, now placed one spot beneath Lady GaGa‘s ‘ARTPOP‘, which sold well under 3,000 copies in the last week.
Due out on May 27th, the project’s pre-order sales may see it slip out of the chart if it they do not pick up in the coming hours, giving some indication as to how it may fare once its released to the world in two weeks time.
