After the rockiest of starts, it appears all Mariah Carey needed was glossy visuals and an excessively long album title to whip up interest in her new project.
Today not only saw the unveiling of the title, tracklist, and artwork for the diva’s 14th LP, ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse‘, it also saw the set go up for pre-order on iTunes.
Available on in standard and deluxe formats, the album is being flocked to by the singer’s legions of “Lambs”. So much so that’s it’s charged into the top ten on the tally…based on orders alone.
Details below…
As at writing, the meaty deluxe edition of ‘The Elusive Chanteuse‘ sits at #7 on the count.
The feat sees the LP currently besting sales of new albums from the likes of Shakira, Pharrell, and Future.
It’s imperative to point out that the placement is only reflective of sales and pre-orders made since the start of today. Whether Mimi’s latest collection of tracks manages to hold steady ahead of its May 27th arrival will be all sorts of interesting to see. There’s no denying, though; this is a promising start.
