Two years have passed since Monica last blessed the charts with her most recent album, ‘New Life’.
In the years that followed, the singer has embraced the concept quite literally – living the married life with husband Shannon Brown and welcoming daughter Laiyah.
Now, the songbird is gearing up for a return to the charts and is letting fans hear morsels of new music.
Taking to Instagram this weekend, the 33-year-old shared a clip from a studio session, which included new track ‘Ocean Of Tears’.

I love the quiet storm vibe of what I can hear from the track and it sounds like Monica is finally ready to really start to play with that gift of hers. For a few albums now I’ve felt like there was enough variety in her delivery. This is different for her while still retaining that throaty Monica thing.
