The casual-pop lana fans will probably hate this but I like it. It’s not my favourite video of hers but I can still appreciate it and think it fits the song well. A bunch of campy dance routines and a million costume changes are not what Lana is about. I absolute love the fire at the end and whole 90’s feel it evokes.
Did anyone else notice that she was burning in a red dress. “I got my red dress on tonight.” Maybe it symbolises her changing from BTD lana to the new ULTRAVIOLENCE era.
Hopefully Lana won’t completely forget her old video style like in BTD, national anthem, summertime sadness and ride because those videos were some of the best of their respective years.
Her BTD videos were much better, the song is okay but it makes the whole product sound/look cheap.. The only part that was good was when she was chilling in the car
I can definitely understand why some people might find it boring and maybe a more grand video would be fitting for the first single but it is clear that Lana wants to be more stripped back this era and I support that decision. I just hope we don’t get many more black and white videos because I prefer to see the vivid colours and cinematography that her videos usually have.

The first version of west coast was taken down and replaced which has completely ruined the momentum of the song (now we have 4 different versions) and yesterday an unfinished version of this video was uploaded by vevo.
