As his digital star continues to rise via word of mouth and user-generated uploads of his material, Elijah Blake has confirmed the release of his second EP this week, doing so during his time with That Grape Juice’s/Creative Recreation’s ‘Sole Sessions.’
Details on the project below…
On the project, he revealed:
The EP’s coming this summer. I’m calling it ‘Drift’. I just felt like I had done so much musically I was drifting and the music reflects that, it takes you through what I’m going through. As an artist I’ve grown so much, so I think that’s the most exciting part.
Represented by ‘William Morris Endeavor’, the performer’s new release will precede the arrival of his debut album while touching down almost two years after his first LP did the same.
Named ‘Bijoux 22‘, the free December 2012 release spawned the Common-assisted ‘XOX’ and reached the 15 million streams spun point this week.
This, thanks to plays scored by its official ‘DatPiff’ and ‘YouTube’ players and audio ripped and re-uploaded by fans online, accounting for over half of the spins the project has garnered since it dropped.
However, while the 3 million spins nabbed by fan favourite ‘Vicky’s Secret‘ are nothing short of impressive, getting fans to press pause on ‘SoundCloud‘ and part ways with their cash on iTunes should be the ultimate goal for Blake.
Will he able to do it in time for album #1?
