In total, ‘Crazy” serves as Cole’s 9th #1. Indeed, beyond her own releases, she’s reached the coveted top spot on four occasions with Girls Aloud and also as part of an ensemble for the charity cover of R.E.M.’s Everybody Hurts for Helping Haiti.

Cheryl is really big in the UK. She was in Girls Aloud, which was the largest girl group in the UK since The Spice Girls. And her first album went 3x Platinum which is definitely more than Ellie Goulding or Rita Ora did with their first albums. So yeah itwas kind of a disappointment when A Million Lights only went gold. But Cheryl also cut promo for the album because she did the Girls Aloud reunion.
But Sam is forgetting that Crazy Stupid Love still topped the charts despite not being A listed on Radio 1, which is a big snub. Rarely do artists of Cheryl’s stature get B listed on Radio 1. A listings get more airplay than B listings. So the fact that Cheryl was still able to debut at #1 with competition from ‘Rude’ despite getting less airplay on the top radio station in the UK is impressive.
Either way, though, Cheryl needs to stop only promoting one single and stsrt promoting her entire album which is what she did with 3 Words. She is huge but not bug enough to sit down after a number one and expect to go Platinum.
