Congratulations are most certainly in order for the ‘Electric Lady’ that is Janelle Monae.

For, she is  now the proud owner of her very own record label, placing herself at the top of a ‘Wondaful’ new musical empire.

Good news below…

Monae has launched the ‘Wondaland Records‘, a brand new label she has created in partnership with the LA Reid-led Epic, placing it under the Sony umbrella and giving her the freedom to support talent she believes in.

She shared:

I’m so thrilled to share Wondaland Records with the world. Each artist under Wondaland Records has unparalleled talent, incredible vision, and brings something unique to the music industry. Together, we’re creating a new movement and space for the future of music and pop culture. I’m honored to be partnering with Epic Records and my friend LA Reid to present such extraordinary talent.

Her comments were echoed by Reid, who added:

The collective talent of the Wondaland artists is awe-inspiring. I haven’t personally witnessed a collective that sounds and looks this special in quite a while. I’ve been a longtime supporter and friend of Janelle and it is an honor to now work with her as a visionary businesswoman who brings an all-star group of talented performers to the table.

Epic records though, ugh that label is a mess. Besides that chubby white girl ( can’t remember her name ) nobody over there is making any major noise. I’ll still support though cause she makes G.O.O.D music, but she should have chose a better label home.

    She´s amazing!
Her live performances of “Cold War” are everything!
And from her last album: “What an experience”, “We were Rock & Roll”, “Sally Ride” and the duet with Prince are brilliant.

Congrats to Ms. Monae, I’m glad she left Bad Boy and is now expanded to ‘BOSS’ status with her Wondaland situation, which has been going on for a while 🙂
