More messy moments from Mariah Carey‘s concert at the Jazz & Blues Festival in Jamaica have begun to emerge.
Though hailed by loyal fans, the videos from the headlining show tell an all-together different story.
It’s not yet been ascertained if the diva was experiencing technical difficulties, but what is certain is that it made for an incredibly difficult watch.

While performing ‘We Belong Together’, the 45-year-old disappeared from the stage leaving the pre-recorded climax of the song to play to the confused audience…
Elsewhere, during her rendition of ‘Fantasy’ Mimi’s backing track decided to do its own thing. The result? An awkward live sing-a-long-song with her pre-recorded “live” vocals…
In all fairness to Mariah, we suspect there were indeed tech issues – which were likely out of her direct control. However, there simply isn’t any excuses for her inability to rescue the situation.
Here she is being paid copious amounts of money to perform, only to deliver dollar store antics.
Fans, whether in attendance or watching from home, should never be able to see the drama so glaringly. And if unavoidable, why not spin to one’s advantage? It’s becoming obvious, though, that the latter just isn’t possible for Mariah these days. Why? Because, as a vocalist, the only real means of salvaging lipping issues would be to grab a mic and sing her face off. Something she consistently has trouble doing.
These Vegas shows should be interesting. For her sake, we hope the team tasked with piecing together that project (help her) iron out all these kinks. Because, these so-so performances are really creasing her reputation.
I love Mariah but she needs to get it together and learn how to lip synch.. she’s a legend and doesn’t need to prove anything, I will still be paying for a ticket to go see this legend. But these Vegas shows do not look like they are going to go well.. I am praying for the queen

Carey kept showing up in the press but for the wrong reasons, like her Norma Desmond-like ride on a New York subway last week clad in a formal gown and white gloves. That doesn’t make her seem street or one with the people, it makes her seem confused about where she is and out of touch. If she wants to ride the subway, something I imagine she hasn’t done in decades, as a publicity stunt, that’s fine, but don’t do it in a way that only makes you seem even more unrelatable…

I don’t know why people still wanna see her perform. I get she’s a legend and all, but seeing her vocal capability and stage acts over the past years, it’s really sad and embarrassing. If i were her, i would just retire and enjoy the fruits of my labor. it’s time for her to kick back and relax and enjoy her money and success rather than making a fool out of herself. poor girl 🙁

Mariah’s really embarrassing herself! This just isn’t good! These lambs might want to start being honest about what’s really going on with her, instead of giving this woman a false impression. Really John? For the record my favs are ALWAYS mentioned by lambs especially when their defending Mariah. I never understand why the issues ya’ll have with the Mariah bashing can’t be debated without lumping in a dozen other singers. It’s usually never the other way around unless provoked. Half the people ya’ll focus on don’t even come around to comment on a Mariah post.

Lambs defend her because except her for who she is. If you are a true fan you know Mariah suffers from insecurity, vocal nods, and terrible stage pressance. Is it a good look to allow haters to see this? No, but regardless I love mariah and will always support her. Her voice has change but it’s not shot. I was at her Christmas shows and it was stellar. mariah is most comfortable in the studio where she is able to let go and perfect her music.
What is really sad is all these essays about how bad she is, especially when a certain “fave” has been caught lips syncing, and stealing but there are only praises.
Honestly these write ups show just how much of a hateful person Sam is. Mariah should be cleaner on stage but at the end of the day, she is Mariah Carey and can do what ever she wants. still love this woman regardless. She doesn’t have to be perfect for me to love her.

As I look in my phone to the videos I recorded of Mariah at the Beacon, it makes me wonder why Sam never reported of those shows….hmmmm it’s because she was good and nothing and I mean NOTHING was bad about that show. The girls lip sing certain songs. Beyonce “Drunk in Love” at one of the award shows, Mariah always lip sings “Fantasy” and I mean ALWAYS
Anyway just wanted to add that you haters only see her bad performances and never want to give her props for the ones she slays. I actually believe that some of the trolls here are Sam and his team. Some say lambs are delusional but it’s the haters that are delusional.

She’s not the first artist to sing with track in certain numbers in a show and she won’t be the last, clearly she sings with the track in fantasy otherwise she would not have been so frustrated with the fact that she could not here her own live vocal, so it was a technical problem, these things happen, for the rest of the shoe sounded amazing and lets remember it was a Jazz Festival so she took advantage of the fact that she could play around with the songs and frees type a bit more and i think it was great t here them sung differently for a change

People are literally paying to “see” her. I’m not that much of a fan anymore. I need to see/hear you SING. Lip-syncing, prerecording and dubbing is a problem for me. I understand that nobody’s perfect and maybe a few times. BUT DAMN! To this day, she’s still recording songs that are way out of her range which proves that she was a studio artist from the beginning. The records are amazing and perfect, but it’s all about that live performance to me. In 2015, she’s good mid-range. She can still do a little something, but nothing like before. Anything high is out of the question. Currently she’s extremely uncomfortable..
