Kelly Cutrone isn’t the only industry power player taking aim at Kanye West this month.

For after celebrating the Grammy winning successes of Capitol acts Sam Smith and Beck, the label’s CEO has labelled Kanye West a “buffoon” for ruining the latter’s winning moment.

Why Steve Barnett, the brains behind Katy Perry’s label operation, thinks the rapper needs a therapist.

His words below…

During a recent catch-up with ‘Billboard’, Barnett had this to say when quizzed on Kanye’s recent headline earning drama:

I think he needs a therapist. … We live in America [where] there’s freedom of speech, if you want to act like a buffoon, you can act like a buffoon.

His comments come after West defended his decision to interrupt Beck’s Album of the Year acceptance speech in an interview with TV personality Ryan Seacrest.

Read what he had to say for himself here.

Do you agree with Barnett’s comments?

He needs more than a therapist.

      And Michael didn’t?

Needs a psyCHIAtrist (not psychologist) so he can get 200mgs of Prozac.

      • Toohotfortv February 23, 2015

Hmm… you’re very familiar with that pharmaceutical dosages. #justsaying… sounds like the pot calling the kettle…

I’m a Gemini and so is Kanye, and I can say that we’re very passionate people. Especially if it regards something that we believe in, while I’m not defending his actions, I can honestly say that I understand him and see where he is coming from.

    • S****** Blonde February 23, 2015

I’m also a Gemini but i respect everybody, more so myself, he acts like a fool, i would never make myself look ridiculous in front of the world, no one takes him seriously, all Geminis i know are very similar to me, hell, look at how different from Kanye other Geminis are, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Marilyn Monroe, Paul McCartney etc, Kanye clearly has some mental issues.

      • Nika February 23, 2015

Kanye hasn’t been right since his moms passed. I do now believe that she was his “rock” which kept him grounded. It’s pretty sad to see him just spiral outta control.

      • Toohotfortv February 23, 2015

Are you really using those people as examples for stability? You obviously haven’t done your homework, sweetheart. Every single person on that little list you spouted has a history of idiosyncratic, if not erratic, behavior. That only goes to prove, imho, that he’s just being a Gemini. Which, is something I hadn’t considered before.

  3. Stinglikebey February 23, 2015

How about you tell Sam to get a therapist then maybe he will stop talking to to tabloids about his relationship with a thousand men

    • Gina February 23, 2015

      True dat.

      • Toohotfortv February 23, 2015

What are we talking about here? Huh? Anyway, has anyone considered that some of this behavior could be marketing. Honestly, if so, it’s genius bc ye and kim’s names stay on y’all lips. Tuh! #winning

  4. DEL BEY February 23, 2015

I agree, Koonye is borderline mentally unstable, I’m also not pleased with the representation he gives for black folk.. angry, entitled, arrogant.. we need more positive black folk at the top of the game

    • MisdamenorFan February 23, 2015

That calling brothers/sisters koon is played out. You need to stop that like now.

      • DEL BEY February 23, 2015

I’ve just google’d the definition of ‘koon’ and I just discovered it is quite rude and derogatory, I apologise, I genuineley thought it meant like ‘joker’ or someone not to be taken seriously.. my bad

      • Toohotfortv February 23, 2015

Gosh… I was just about to call you out on that too @del bey. I appreciate you recognizing the error and correcting it. That actually says a lot about you bc many would have taken a different route. Thanks. Anyway, I’m also questioning this label head’s use of buffoon, but I digress. . .

    • Regina George February 23, 2015

Well… He is acting like one… Has nothing to do with him being black IMO

      • Toohotfortv February 23, 2015

        Sweetheart, you are simply ignorant.

      • MisdamenorFan February 23, 2015

Do you know what that word means? It’s just as bad as calling someone the N word. You are really ignorant.

  5. Gina February 23, 2015

He is mentally unstable and it makes me upset that people think him ranting about not being accepted in fashion equates to society’s issues with black people. He’s selfish.

    • DEL BEY February 23, 2015

precisely. I remember watching him almost have a complete meltdown on radio for the non acceptance of ‘black’ people in the fashion industry, while this is true, someone with as much power as kanye has could do soooo much more, he has the influence to sway the opinions of african americans everywhere, he could start a revolution of positive change for black people in the US… but what does he do? Marrys the industies biggest thot and rant about his personal injustice… selfish man

  6. DEL BEY February 23, 2015

as for man adele, he has a cute voice and is undeniably talented, but hollywood love a white guy who sounds soulful.. I wonder how many wonderfully talented black soul singers are out there that are being dismissed, simply because they’re not marketable.

  7. blue February 23, 2015

he needs a team of therapists, the man gets off on his rants, im sure he rants during s** just to maintain and e*******

  8. S****** Blonde February 23, 2015

Kanye is very talented but he really needs help, he’s making a fool of himself, but maybe he really is, until he find that man that puts him in his place right there in front of everybody when he try to make Beyoncé justice once again, because he will do it again, i just wish his next victim have a low b******* tolerance.

  9. Indie February 23, 2015

I Love Kanye but she tells no lies!

  10. Geri February 23, 2015

See how John Legend gets his message across respectfully and powerfully without being rude? Learn from that Kanye.

    • Dossome February 23, 2015

      @Del Bey
Just checked your website, not bad at all. It’s a really promising start, best of luck

  11. Paulo February 23, 2015

not surprised he feels that way considering CRAPitol wrecked a lot of black artists’ careers (LeToya, Janet J, Corinne Bailey Rae, Cherish, even Joss who’s white but records Soul).

    • AJ February 23, 2015

It’s a different label now to what it was then.

  12. Shaquiisha February 23, 2015

If a female acted anything lije the way he acts theyd be called crazy! A b*tch! Etc. they’d be black listed.

    • Geri February 23, 2015

      What a name you have.

  13. AJ February 23, 2015

Kanye needs God cause right now he acts like he is God.

  14. RoyalKev February 23, 2015

Kanye is just a radical. Sometimes he get it right, sometimes he don’t! He’s a passionate, courageous man that speaks his truth. I admire that he doesn’t follow the crowd and back down from what he believe in. He’s learning to stop being so aggressive and calmly say what’s on his mind. No therapy is needed!

  15. Musika February 23, 2015

He’s changed…a lot..ever since his mother passed away. He wasn’t this rude and loud before…like during his College Dropout days..
