Diva supreme Mariah Carey marvelled last night at the launch of her Las Vegas residency, ‘Mariah #1 To Infinity.’
Playing to a sold-out crowd at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the 45-year-old journeyed through her 18 US #1 singles and climaxed with a rousing rendition of ‘Infinity’ – the sole new track from greatest hits compilation ‘#1 To Infinity’ (due May 18th).
Having hit headlines for many a vocal mishap over the years, all eyes and ears were ready set to assess her performance.
And while the wheels on the propaganda machine had been spinning prior to opening night, the proof had to be in the pudding.
Luckily for Mimi, she served up a delicious vocal showing which should go some way to quieting the critics.

I just love her so much. I live for all of the E & F notes she hit LIVE. I didn’t even know that register still existed for her bc The Elusive Chanteuse album is so heavily modulated. Wow! I am so happy for Mariah! Those rumors about her can finally subside and she can come back out with a studio album. I honestly think she still has it in her to rock out in this era of music. It won’t be easy getting the attention of some of this brain washed generation but I think she can do it.
The same exact thing happened with the Elusive Chanteuse Show Tour. Once she warmed-up vocally, she was able to effortlessly progress through each show. I expect nothing less from Mariah, since she did release the “Burterfly” album and write all of its heartfelt, powerful, poetic, and intellectually-stimulating lyrics. I’m very proud of her to be doing this well this late in her career. I’ll definitely be buying a ticket soon.
