The music streaming giant Spotify has announced the names of the artists they believe will pick up awards at Sunday’s BET Awards ceremony.
Yes, 48 hours before the event kicks off in Los Angeles the company have thrown their two cents into the prediction pot with a “winners list” that reveals which of this year’s nominees have received the most streams on the platform.

Other than Sam smith I see no lies , Nicki killed all them thots in that category with PP , Chris Brown had X, which won a Grammy & He released FOF , Beyoncé slayed everyone in her category with flawless remix last year & 7/11 , & Drake ……idk I personally think Big Sean & Cold had the better albums and Drakes album was practically a “Mixtape” but who knows what will happen bet can SOMETIMES surprise us with these awards

Is this the BET awards or the crossed over awards. You can get away with the most popular at the AMA or Billboard Awards, but BET and other core awards should award the most taneted, but the most successful. Why should we respect them, the side that they sold out with don’t. I recall the Soul Train Awards letting Whitney win and she was booed, because she wasn’t R&B, she was pop. What R&b song did CB release to win or even get a nom? Beyonce is fine, Nicki, sure. But Drake?! J.Cole CLEARLY had the best album, 2nd is Lamar. In that case, Jason should be nom for best r&b. I’m sick of the sell outs taking control when they brought NOTHING to the R&B and Hip Hop genres.

For the most part, they did an exceptional job picking the nominees for each category.
As a J Cole fan also, I can say that the rap category is arguable. Out of all of them thats the only debatable one given that Cole, Drake, Kendrick, Wale, Big Sean, and a vet like Common are all doing big things and bringing it back for the REAL Hip Hop heads.
So stop it.
The categories says BEST so these are my winners:
Male R&B: The Weeknd
Female R&B: Beyoncé or Jhene Aiko
Male Rap: J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar
Female Rap: Any of the girls except Iggy or Trina
New Artist: Tinashe (like I said BEST doesn’t mean most successful or overrated, her album slayed everyone on that list and its universally critically acclaimed)
Nicki should be winning it, I could even settle for Banks in it and it’s just a big fat NO to Sam Smith getting anything, Bey also deserves the RnB award. Cole should be getting the Male Hip hop one, not Drakeisha that mixtape was trash compared to 2014 Forest Hills drive.

We’re not in 2014. Nicki vs iggy was last year. N the BET awards aren’t about popularity or sales, they’re about talent. This aint the VMAs, AMAs or BB awards.
