This song was sent to mainstream pop radio and every mainstream sales and streaming outlet, so it’s not like it was targeted only at the R&B market. The pop market simply rejected it. And in the meantime, the Adult R&B demographic is tiny with very little competition, so it doing decently there isn’t that much of an accomplishment. She obviously wants a bigger audience for the song and does care about chart positions, else she wouldn’t have put J. Cole on a remix.
