Kendrick Lamar has found himself in a spot of legal bother.
Who, what, where and why?
Full story below…
The rapper is being sued by the photographer behind the artwork for his new single ‘The Blacker the Berry‘ for using the image without his permission.
Billboard reports:
Freelance photographer Giordano Cipriani names Lamar, Top Dawg Entertainment, Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment in the suit, claiming they used a photo he shot on a 2011 trip to Africa of a mother breastfeeding two children without permission or payment.
The single appears on Lamar’s latest album ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ and its artwork has been used to promote it globally. Unfortunately, Lamar may be forced to dish up $150,000 for Cipriani for everytime the image has been used.
Seeing that 3 other plaintiffs are named in the suit, isn’t the title a little misleading?
Oh people people people… Nothing is mahala.
