21.
Of course, that’s the name of Adele‘s blockbuster second album. But it’s also the number of days until the singer unleashes its follow-up ’25.’
Already breaking records left and right, the ‘Hello’ led set is being earmarked for an earth-shattering debut by industry insiders.
The latest on its new forecast after the jump…
Per HDD, ’25’ is being projected to debut with US sales in the ballpark of 2 million.
Previous estimates had the LP predicted to open with 1.5 million copies. However, after the gargantuan success of ‘Hello’ – which has been bulldozing radio, streaming, and digital sales records – the figure has been increased.
If Adele does deliver such numbers, she’d be the first artist to come anywhere near the 2.4 million US opening of NSYNC‘s ‘No Strings Attached’ — which was released 15 years ago.
And given how today’s music climate compares to then (see: sales all but a myth these days), it really puts into context how epic a feat it’d be should she even comes close.
