In an era where the word “slay” is being used with alarming flippancy, Adele is helping to redefine.
The singer’s new single ‘Hello’ was hatched less than four days ago, but is already bulldozing everything in sight.
Per a new report, the track – which was written by the belter and Greg Kurstin – in on course for a blockbuster debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
Powered by over 70 million VEVO views (27 million of which were amassed in its first 24 hours of availability), ‘Hello’ has sold 750,000 copies in the US thus far – a figure which places it in a plausible position to reach the 1 million mark Stateside by the end of the tracking week.
As the success of ’21’ proved, Adele is the kind of winner who quite literally takes it all. Hence, it’s little surprise to see that the mania surrounding ‘Hello’ has carried over onto its housing album ’25.’
Hits Daily Double relays that the LP (due November 20th) has racked up 200,000 American pre-orders in just three days. A figure many albums struggle to sell in total these days.
In other Ms. Adkins news, it has been confirmed that she will be taking to the stage on the November 21st edition of Saturday Night Live. Matthew McConaughey hosts.
