Rebel Heart sold 650,000 globally (and it took months to sell that) according to the OFFICIAL source: IFPI. Stop using fan-made Mediatraffic as a source. “Unbreakable” will outsold it – domestically and internationally. It’s already fourth best selling female album released in 2015.
Why are you arguing about a woman who has enough money to by a small country. I’m to busy stacking my own decks to actually worry about Janet or Madonna album sales. Well business 101. Revenue and Net profit are two different things.
Janet 120,000*10= $1.2 Million minus production and management
Madonna 300,000*10*.15= $450,000 minus production and manager cost
Janet has way more net profit from her album since most production and writing is with Terry and Jimmy. Madonna is on a major label so she not even seeing more then .20 cents to dollar. Also she has to split alot of album revenue on marketing and paying for all those producers.
Even the tour yes Madonna is seeing more on ticket revenue but she also spends more to make the show all those special effects and costumes. While Janet only hast two outfits and minimal special effects Im sure Janet ROI is bigger then Madonna.

It’s called a music INDUSTRY and BUSINESS for a reason. The goal is to sell and make money. Only one female album released this year sold over 500,000 in the States. All other under 250,000. And we are talking about the world’s biggest music market that takes 50% of global music market. The music market is so small today and Janet is a smart business woman trying to take maximum of it.
I’m trying to understand it myself. The album is a masterpiece and I wonder why she isn’t promoting the conventional way. Maybe she just wants steady sales which is what she has now. The album has risen 5 places on the Billboard 200.

Why is TGJ lying for Janet? Her album hasn’t sold consistently sold 10-15k a week. Last week Hits tracked her previous weeks sales at approximately 5k. Looks like she might have experienced a minor bump the week after that, but I doubt it was by much. The way this blog tries to exaggerate and do damage control for their pets is incredible.

I would love to see mama bring out some special guests on tour. It’ll help sell the album better, although the ticket sales for the tour are healthy. She’s such a business savvy queen…doing this deal with a social media giant like Uber (young people live posting things about Uber on social media). I just don’t understand why she won’t do a stadium in Hawaii instead of doing those three shows? She’s been cancelling and rescheduling so many shows already that I don’t know how she’ll be able to finish the tour with 100+ dates…and more to come internationally. She’s a hard worker, so I’m sure she’ll find a way.
