August Alsina is celebrating the release of new album ‘This Thing Called Life’ today, but is still in the midst of a media storm following his less than tactful words for label Def Jam.
According to the crooner, an error saw the entire LP serviced to VEVO two days ahead of its release. Taking to Twitter upon learning of the occurrence via fans, the New Orleans native typed verbatim “f*ck you Def Jam.”
During a promotional visit to The Breakfast Club today, Alsina insisted that he “definitely meant them words” and elaborated on his frustration.
If sticking with the label is in his longterm plans, we still don’t feel he’s going about the whole episode the right way.
But, whatever the case, check out the interview after the jump…
‘This Thing Called Life’ is out now.
boring album TBH.
Hes just OKay… nothing we havent seen
Nobody is fooled. You knew you were going to flop and you’re trying to blame it on the label. It’s not as if it leaked weeks before it was supposed to come out. Nobody cares bro. You spent too much faking that feud with Trey when you should have been working on stronger songs. Back to Atlanta you go
Boy stop! You milked ILS and now you didn’t come with the heat you’re mad. Your lazy on stage, you don’t put any effort into your vocals yet you think you deserve the kind of sales Tank and Tyrese should be getting. All of these R&b boys today are basic as basic itself but want sales that aren’t basic. I’m tired.
He’s also very unlikable. He has this cockiness as if he just sold 3.3 million in a week. Lyfe Genesis of the 2010s.
got the balls to show your nasty dikc – to your label this time, hun?
His skin is flawless!
Dude sounds Ungrateful! I mean s*** happens your not the first and wont be the last! but s*** be happy your fans still deserve that much. you out here sounding bitter as f*** in cashmere and in labels brands come on!
I’m sorry, but why does he keep coming back to this show? It’s not gonna increase his record sales, so what’s the point in talking about an album that has already been set up to fail…by his own record label? He better watch his mouth, too, because his label could just up and drop him for talking slick when he least expects it.
He is one of the girls and I live chile.
