With the New Year nigh, Fantasia is making major career changes.

Fresh from rocking the 2015 Soul Train Awards, the singer has announced that she has inked a new management deal.

Details below…

The 31-year-old, whose career had been shepherded by Brian Dickens for much of her post-American Idol tenure, revealed that she has joined the Primary Wave Entertainment roster – home to the likes of Cee-Lo Green and Gabrielle Union.

Speaking on recruiting the powerhouse, her new co-managers Steven Greener and Tom Maffei say they vow to “grow Fantasia’s brand within the music industry as well as film/TV space.” They said in a statement:

“We have been following Fantasia’s career for quite a long time and it’s a real pleasure to be working with such a gifted artist. She has one of the finest voices of our generation and we are honored to have her join the Primary Wave family.

The ‘Lose To Win’ singer added:

“I am humbled and excited about what this new partnership with Primary Wave represents.     I have been blessed to continue doing what I love to do for 12 years.   This journey has not always been easy, but my fight to continue singing has molded me into the woman that I am. My Rock Soul fans have shared every up and down with me.     We have laughed together and we have cried together.   If I know them like I believe I do, they know that this is a new journey for us all.   Change had to come, and this one in particular feels Oh So Good!   It’s time!!”

Still signed to RCA Records, the star is currently in the studio working on a new album – the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Side Effects of You’. The said LP is due next year.

On the immediate agenda for Ms. Barrino? A performance slot at the SINATRA: Voice for a Century concert gala on December 3rd, 2015 in NYC. The Grammy affiliated event, which is a Frank Sinatra tribute to celebrate the legend’s 100th Birthday, will also include performances by Christina Aguilera, Sting, among others and airs December 18th on PBS.

What’s more, the Charlotte native will also return to Idol for its final season early next year, making a number of guest appearances and performances.

Needless to say, the revitalised Team Barrino are off to a flying start!

Somehow Fantasia always gets it right when she puts out a new album as far as promo, appearances, etc… Always ends up on the billboard top 10. Interested to see what’s next.

It’s time for her career to be taken to another level. She always has great music and albums but I feel like she should be doing more Tina Turner/Bruno type music mixed in with her soulful R&B/gospel signature style. Say what you want about her but she is one of the elite performers and vocalists of our generation.

Hope she leaves RCA it’s a terrible label to be on.

I Agree to a certain extent. it’s interesting how they have some of the best vocalists on that label. Clive knows how to pick em’. The good thing about that label is that no matter how much these singers sell, they never get shelved or dropped. Fantasia, monica, jazmine and jessie j.

My life was forever changed when i saw Fantasia live at a festival in my hometown. I recommend it for anyone who has not experienced her. If she gave all that at a free event, I can only imagine how she gets down at her actual concerts. Slay Tasia

Let her serve up another “Bittersweet”. I’m ALL THE WAY HERE for it! A feature with her brother might do the album good too.
