Kelly Rowland is a working mother and keen to celebrate it.
The solo Grammy winner appears in the latest issue of Parents Magazine with her adorable one year old son Titan Jewell.
Young TJ is the first child for the Destiny’s Child diva and husband/manager Tim Weatherspoon.
Inside her interview, which appears in full in the February 2016 edition of the publication, Rowland – whose new BET show ‘Chasing Destiny’ premieres in April – waxes honest about how motherhood has changed her. She also speaks on how losing her own mother (just three weeks after giving birth) impacted her.

On Her Mother’s Passing Shortly After:
“It was a tough, emotional point for me. I remember not wanting to be sad for Titan. I wanted to keep myself together because I believe that all that stress and grief can be passed on to your baby. Knowing Titan needed me, and having that to focus on, helped me through.”
On Knowing She & Husband Tim Were Getting It “Right”:
“[At the 4-5 month mark] that’s when I started seeing Titan smile and so I thought, ‘We must be doing something right if he’s happy!.’ He was on the changing table and I was singing a silly song to him: ‘Titan’s so fly! Titan’s so fly!’ He just looked up at me and smiled and my heart melted.”

She is radiating and so is that little boy! I can only imagine how tough it was for her emotionally to lose her mother shortly after her first child was born. Glad she stayed strong for Titan and I’m sure he and others around her helped her cope. I have such a soft spot for Kelly. Not only is she one of the most gorgeous women in the business, she’s talented and always seems humble and genuine. Rooting for her 🙂
