Soul-filled songstress Jazmine Sullivan didn’t walk away with any awards (again) at this year’s Grammy ceremony. But she needn’t fret. Because, as one of today’s top R&B performers, she’s always a winner.

Case in point her knockout performance of ‘Masterpiece’ this morning on ‘Kelly & Michael.’

A favorite from the singer’s critically acclaimed third album, ‘Reality Show,’ both Sullivan and the song are likely to have picked up a horde of new fans after this showing.

Watch below…

Those vocals, though! Wholly befitting of the song’s title.

We must say, and it may not be popular opinion, but ‘Reality Show’ as an album didn’t rouse us as much as Sullivan’s previous efforts.

However, should she keep being given platforms like this to show and shine, she’ll have the firmest of foundations to spring from with her next effort.

Your thoughts?

  3. Weezy Tha Goat February 18, 2016

She’s so damn underrated. I love Adele, but I feel like she takes ( not on purpose ) all the shine from other girls in the R&B division.

  4. #TeamTinashe Stan(#JOYRIDE…..Coming Soon) February 18, 2016

If she doesn’t become the most talked about vocalist like Adele when she puts out another album I’ll be pissed. Incredibly underrated!

    • QueenDime February 18, 2016

Agree ! Its time my girl Jaz get her credit that’s been overdue for a minute now. Time for her to get some shine and recognition before it’s too late.

Its a damn shame how ppl are criminally sleeping on this woman talent, than have the nerve to say R&B is dead. R&B isn’t dead but dam sure on life support. Theses record labels don’t support our acts like they did in 90s and early 00s. I can’t even think of a good label for anyone to sign to that’ll either bs them or cheat them out their money, better off remaining independent.

    • Carry On February 18, 2016

Agreed ……Who made it all about money? They needed to have been called out? Well, Stop supporting these loons and carry on with yourself.

  6. QueenDime February 18, 2016

I had expected her to perform this song at the Grammys to great disappointment -_-

    • therealistsince96 February 18, 2016

WHY? Shes a FAT P** can she not see her age mates joining gym i dont want no fat mammy crying that adele is getting more attention on my tv screen. Adele is an 1 in a million . Adele is not the Norm most white women are anorexic. only black women want to be fat and selll…. my friend look nice first.

      • Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) February 18, 2016

        KISS MY ASS!!!

      • Nonya February 18, 2016

And your fat ass is probably stuck in a bed trying to fry chicken in your last days! Don’t come for jazzy Bih! She is worth more than your life insurance policy. Ol high risk ass! I would tell you to sit down but I guess I just have to say fall back! Crumb snatcher h**!

Very very beautiful voice. However, this isnt a healthy representation for or of black women. she is morbidly obese. and im not here for it. Lauryn Hill for me was perfect too perfect. aware and proud of her blackness and beautiful whilst doing it. Even India Arie too. Why must this sloth full individual want success when she cannot even be a good example to the millions of black women suffering with unhealthy eating habits. Diabetes and other health realted illness are destroying the black community. we are at the bottom we cannnot afford anymore negative female role models. im afraid the whole adele vs Jazmine holds no merit as adele herself has lost at least4 stone since she first came out while Jazmine gets bigger and bigger. Dont be LAZY

    • QueenDime February 18, 2016

Are you f****** serious what you just wrote ? No matter what size she is, she is beautiful. Smh discriminating against sizes like really ?? They said the same s*** about Adele afew years ago and she was slaying every body left and right. You so focus on appearances and not the talent. Anybody could be skinny and appear healthy and be basic as f*** ( Taylor, Selena, Ect. )

      • therealistsince96 February 18, 2016

lol who said i dont rate talented chicks live in the REAL world not NARNIA please looks are important and she looks like a dogs dinner. Hence y she is where she is . Adele is a 1 in a million just like Aretha Franklin was in her day. Spreading a message to black women that its okay to be fat and UGLY is very dangerous and im glad artist like beyonce, rihanna and Nicki are on top. Be concious thats cool, Erykah Badu, India Arie and Lauryn Hill all talented and heatlhy. Shout all u want !! IDGAF

    • QueenDime February 18, 2016

You are a f****** troll. She does not send a negative image on black women. And then you have the damn audacity to bring up Beyonce Rihanna and Nicki whom I love but are not putting out the music that she is ( different lanes, different subject matters, artistry ect. ) looks are important? Bissh please looks can also be deceiving (fake, implant b******) She can lose that weight if she wants to, you’re sitting here acting like she honey boo boo ? BTW You also mention Lauryn, Erykah, and India yet the industry isn’t supporting them of their moral views of music.

  8. What now February 18, 2016

I agree TGJ. I find Forever Don’t Last & Masterpiece to be her best songs, but that debut (Fearless) is her best work overall. I hope she puts out another album by the end of this year. Another 5 year break isn’t going to work for me.

  9. JOHNVIDAL February 18, 2016

She´s great, amazing. But let´s not act as if her music has universal appeal. Not even her voice to a point. In this case there´s no more to it. It´s not the white priviledge. Very very few voices and careers achieve that. She´s not a Whitney.

    • Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) February 18, 2016

      Fu ck u

    • credits February 18, 2016

…and there will never be another whitney but don’t underestimate jazmine’s range! And furthermore, aside from her fluid runs and incredible lower register, this girl is an amazing songwriter–don’t forget that. And about her music not having universal appeal….that could just be an issue with choosing the right songs on her albums. If you put jazmine’s unreleased songs, ‘if this is love’ ‘in vain’ and ‘catalog girl’ on an album, it would be right up there with adele.

      • Londonhonesty February 19, 2016

Why are all negative comments being met with abuse these are real A&R issues being pointed out with this artist. An artist must connect with the public to sell her image doesnt connect. Sam Smith lost weight to do just this. This women just doesnt have IT for me not even some decent catchy songs at least aretha had “respect” and so many other timeless hits

  10. Meteorite February 18, 2016

Her team needs to get her on Ellen or some other major platform, this girl to talented to be hidden in the shadows.

  11. #JACKIE February 18, 2016

    Did she gain more weight?

    • Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) February 18, 2016

  13. Quinn February 18, 2016

She’s sooooo talented, I just want her to win.

    • Londonhonesty February 19, 2016

      Then buy her music ahhah

  14. Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) February 18, 2016

    Vocal BEAST honey!!

  15. obsidian February 18, 2016

In my opinion black artists need to stop creating, and releasing music to the public period! Why put forth all this effort if the general public is not going to support the music! I don’t blame Lauryn Hill for not releasing any new music; the industry is biased and it will continue to be until black artist take a stand!!! If the general public wants stale-white-artists to be the face of music period, let them!!

    • Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) February 18, 2016

Bigot! U kust eant the ehite ppl to have all the shine. Racist!

      • Truth(Nicki WHACK and Adele FAT…WHET!!) February 18, 2016

Bigot! U just want the white ppl to have all the shine. Racist!

    • Londonhonesty February 19, 2016

I actually agree with u on this a boycott would be good
Or tidal only releases so themarket is deicated by blacks
But how will these peope feed their families??? O yeah through your trolling lol

      • obsidian February 19, 2016

Releasing music the public will not support is more detrimental to their pockets than forgoing the process altogether!! I want to see black artists win; it’s just frustrating that artists as immensely talented as Jazmine Sullivan, Fantasia, Ledisi, Ryan Leslie, Tamar, etc. don’t get the same opportunities as white artists. Furthermore, black people aren’t supporting the music as well!!

  16. 4everBrandy_Ci February 18, 2016

Jazmine Sullivan is amazing enough said!!!!!

  17. Navy Nick February 19, 2016

Reality Show is my album; still on the playlist: SHE IS THE TRUTH!!!!

  18. trose February 19, 2016

Sam did you just say reality show was not a favorite of yours? !? That album is stellar a masterpiece (pun intended) brand new, forever don’t last,Mona lisa, stanley, she delivered in every way to be honest that is my favorite record from her we must pay homage when homage is due!!

  19. King February 19, 2016

Wonderful performance! I’m so glad to see that she’s still promoting the album a full year after it’s release. Most R&B artists don’t do that anymore. I love her and wish her all the success in the world. So underrated.

  20. yesterday was Aaliyah 37birthday to the good music February 21, 2016
