March 25th saw R&B frontrunner K. Michelle deliver her highly anticipated third LP, ‘More Issues Than Vogue.’
Officially kicked off by tunes ‘Not A Little Bit’ and ‘Mindful,’ the set – like its predecessors ‘Rebellious Soul’ (2013) and ‘Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart’ (2014) – is winning over fans and critics alike across the board. And, as expected, in addition to the critical acclaim, it shares another similarity with its predecessors – promising premiere week numbers.
A shoo-in for the #1 spot on R&B charts, tuck in below to see how she fared against the week’s competition on the main album charts (namely Zayn Malik‘s hotly-selling ‘Mind of Mine‘):
First Week Sales Projection: 50,000-55,000
As noted, [Zayn‘s ‘Mind of Mine’] will still cruise to victory on both the Top Album Sales (pure sales) and Billboard 200 (consumption charts).
As far as new releases go, its closest competition will come from K. Michelle’s “More Issues Than Vogue” (~49-53,000 in pure sales, 51-55,000 in consumption).
Despite wielding her lowest debut week numbers to date (‘Heart’ and ‘Soul’ shifted 87,000 and 72,000 respectively), she’s still set to make an impressive placement on the refreshed Billboard 200 next week (given the absence of a hit single on the Hot 100).
Check in next week for the full chart check to find out exactly where she landed.
