March 25th saw R&B frontrunner K. Michelle deliver her highly anticipated third LP, ‘More Issues Than Vogue.’

Officially kicked off by tunes ‘Not A Little Bit’ and ‘Mindful,’ the set – like its predecessors ‘Rebellious Soul’ (2013) and ‘Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart’ (2014) –  is winning over fans and critics alike across the board.  And, as expected, in addition to the critical acclaim, it shares another similarity with its predecessors – promising premiere week numbers.

A shoo-in for the #1 spot on R&B charts, tuck in below to see how she fared against the week’s competition on the  main album charts (namely Zayn Malik‘s hotly-selling ‘Mind of Mine):

First Week Sales Projection:  50,000-55,000

Source:

As noted, [Zayn‘s ‘Mind of Mine’] will still cruise to victory on both the Top Album Sales (pure sales) and Billboard 200 (consumption charts).

As far as new releases go, its closest competition will come from K. Michelle’s “More Issues Than Vogue” (~49-53,000 in pure sales, 51-55,000 in consumption).

Despite wielding her lowest debut week numbers to date (‘Heart’ and ‘Soul’ shifted 87,000 and 72,000 respectively), she’s still set to make an impressive placement on the refreshed Billboard 200 next week (given the absence of a hit single on the Hot 100).

Check in next week for the full chart check to find out exactly where she landed.

Yikes! I told you folks R& B is dead.I don’t know why but no one is checking for R& B anymore. You’d have to be crazy to record an R& B album in this era

  2. Annalise March 28, 2016

LMAOOOOOO! Sorry sis! You tried to use the hive for free promotion, and you’re still pulling these kind of numbers? It’s a crying shame because this is a pretty good album. I feel like being petty and streaming the hell out of ‘Calling All Lovers’ this week.

    • Cassandra chen March 28, 2016

You must be one of Tamar delusional fans, only mouth but no action because calling all lovers sales was a disgrace especially for someone who on TV 24/7. BTW that album does need you stream so please do. Name a female RnB artist who sold over 60k in the first week? Lol

      • Annalise March 28, 2016

BEYONCÉ. (I.e. The person I actually stan for), sold 600,000 copies of her last album during her first week and she is predominately an R&B artist. If you actually followed my comments instead of talking out of your ass, you’d know that I do not stan for Tamar and I actually like K.Michelle. LMAO my only issue with K.Michelle was the fact that she made up some false bs about Beyonce’s album in order to promote her own project. Check your facts and come correct next time!

      • Torrance March 30, 2016

        FANTASIA!!!

    • Cassandra chen March 28, 2016

You hives give yourself too much credit. K first and second albums did excellent numbers and you hives did s***. When did “might” become “must” maybe you should take your advice and state facts. BTW if Bey put out s*** it will still sell it is what it is, but everyone else is doing small numbers. I am one of those person who idolized no one, but always here for good music, and most RNB artists are delivering

      • Annalise March 28, 2016

In the words of Kimberly Michelle Pate…

‘Who the fuq, told yall hœs to open up!?!’

        _
No-one asked for your opinion, mmkay? I’m merely stating facts. There is no reason why K.Michelle would put out a fake rumour about Beyonce’s album, unless she was trying to get attention. I wasn’t even going to go all the way in, but none of K’s album have even gone gold so how would you define that as ‘excellent numbers’. I already praised K.Michelle’s album multiple times, but i’m nobody’s punk so if you really want to get dragged then continue pushing my buttons… B*TCH!

    • Cassandra chen March 28, 2016

B*tch who do you think afraid of your dragged? Lol what really wrong with this kindergarten child, is this the playground? B*tch dragged your dirty panty. If you don’t want ppl to respond to you write in your diary..social forum… How many female r n b albums have gone gold since their released fool? Lol that was going in?..please really go in. You b*tches know NOTHING about music , it’s genre and the state of music… And please context is very important… Come harder boo..

      • Annalise March 28, 2016

I CAN’T AT THIS ILLITERATE 3RD-GRADE EDUCATED BUM B*TCH SEETHING IN MY MENTIONS, AND REFUSING TO USE BASIC GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION!!!! LMFAO you wrote that dissertation to say what? B*tch shut yo dumb muppet-ass up you funky ass hœ! I just gave you an example of an R&B artist that went platinum and sold 600,000 in her first week, and you’re still defending K.Michelle’s floppage. K.Michelle flopped, even after she started that Beyonce rumour LMAO, so fvcking deal with it! We are not talking about the quality of music, we are talking about SALES… and this is clearly a conversation that you can’t take part in!

      • Annalise March 28, 2016

    • Nadine Brown March 28, 2016

I doubt Cassandra was talking about bey that’s why she said anything Bey puts out will sell. But who else doing great rnb sales is the question?

  3. Shady J March 28, 2016

K-Mart Mighest Well Pack Her Bags The Behive Made Sure This B**** Flop Cause False Interview About A New Beyonce Album Release K-Mart Shouldn’t Do That.

    • Danzou March 28, 2016

There’s no such thing as mightest well you stupid b.itch.is either may as well or might as well. Damn people are dumb.

      • SMH March 28, 2016

Well beyonce fans are illiterate morons so you shouldn’t be surprised.

      • shady J March 28, 2016

whats dumb your basic ass had to comment up under my comment who ask your foolish ass to respond you and the rest of the kmart fans can have several seats cant Help it cause your faves flopping.

  4. Everyone’s A Critic March 28, 2016

It’s not about sales as I always stress. Her album is FIRE! Even the Jason Derulo collab is good and I am NOT a fan of his!
She’s never going to match the likes of Zayn in terms of sales because she’s targeted at a niche. Yes.. R&B is a niche now! Even though she has hip-hop flavoured tracks that could commercially do well, her name and that is not enough to cement her on the upper end of billboard but that doesn’t mean she ain’t one of the best doing it

    • Cinnamon Girl March 28, 2016

But it I’d about, sales. How do you think these artists are going to make money? They need to eat too. If you’re not totally writing and producing your own songs like Prince does then you are going to be broke if you’re not selling

      • Cinnamon Girl March 28, 2016

        *is*

      • Everyone’s A Critic March 28, 2016

Let me rephrase for your basic ass.. III do not care about album sales. As long as I enjoy the music I couldn’t care less about anything else. I’ll legally stream it. My job is done. How do sales affect you and I?
Whilst you figure that out.. You can dismiss yourself

      • Cassandra chen March 28, 2016

Artists make money from tour not album sales. They put out albums to tour.. If it was album sales they all would die of hunger.!

    • Rihboy March 28, 2016

Ki! The song with Jason derulo sounds like a better version of overdose .

  5. Black power March 28, 2016

I saw this coming.. I love K but this whole era and album has been a no for me. She needs to take a break and go back to the drawing boards. This was a horrible follow up to AWBAH.

    • Cassandra chen March 28, 2016

Not because you don’t like the album does not mean it not a great album. AWBAH was a great album and she did not get recognized for it so let K sings what she wants… Lol some of you should really stop reaching, those numbers are good for RNB sales….you all need to wake up, times have changed!

      • Black power March 28, 2016

Those numbers were good for who?? Lol she won’t even push 100k total. So stop reaching. I stated my opinion the album is trash.. Stop replying to everyone’s comment and go Stream the album— she needs it.

    • Stacy Robinson March 28, 2016

Those are good numbers for RNB, who selling 100k in the first week tho, not even the great Mariah. Lol from your comment we all need to stream every R&B artists album because they all need it.

    • DeeDee April 23, 2016

OMG I so agree. I’m a fan but I did not like this album and wanted to return it. There were some songs she previewed before the album was released that I was looking forward to hearing but were not on it. I’m disappointed tbh

  6. MUSICHEAD March 28, 2016

These are pretty good numbers for an r&b album. Congrats K. Michelle!

    • Cinnamon Girl March 28, 2016

You must be a little youngsta because back in the day when they higher standards, you would be a laughingstock if you sold this much

      • Everyone’s A Critic March 28, 2016

But he or she made their comment TODAY about an album that has been released THIS WEEK! So how are they a laughing stock.. I can’t with you

      • Cassandra chen March 28, 2016

So who doing numbers like back in the day? Waiting… Times have changed but it’s obvious you are stuck!!! Those are great numbers, Mariah can’t even sell now like back in the day do what does that say…

      • therealist May 19, 2016

Thats not a laughing stock because back in the day, you had to go out and physically purchase an album. You couldn’t stream or download it, so thats a big difference. smh!!! and I’m an 80’s baby.

  7. #JACKIE March 28, 2016

This album sucks compared to the amazing AWBAH. I didn’t purchase.

  8. maurice March 28, 2016

I didn’t really like the album that much, which is odd since I love her previous two.
She should be ashamed for herself for spreading that false Beyonce lie.

  9. ♊Mølly♊ March 28, 2016

Why didn’t the hive support their girl K.michelle? They were just stanning

  10. Annalise March 28, 2016

K.Michelle specifically said she wanted to do more experimental music and not be held down to a niche demographic just because of her background, which is why the original title was ‘I’m Not White, But I Hope You Like’. She said ‘I’m just not going to be told that because I’m black, I have to do [Urban] music’. It’s a shame the label prevented her from exploring new sounds, because she has a great voice. Oh well!!!

    • #JACKIE March 28, 2016

Her country and pop clips sounded amazing on IG. This album is full of generic run of the mill trap beats. K is better than that.

      • Annalise March 28, 2016

        I agree @Molly!

      • #JACKIE March 28, 2016

        B****

      • Annalise March 28, 2016

        ? ? ?

      • Annalise March 28, 2016

@Moldy-Väginal-Infection lmao i agreed with you, what more do you want?

  11. Cinnamon Girl March 28, 2016

@Everyone’s A Critic, you need to take your screen name and apply it to yourself. If you can’t handle anyone responding to your comments then you shouldn’t be here. Now I will excuse myself because I will not go back and forth with a person who goes on the defense over a trivial response. You obviously cannot hold a logical conversation with someone

    • Everyone’s A Critic March 28, 2016

      You’re a brick! Sink

  12. What Now March 28, 2016

This album is dope asf. I was afraid it wouldn’t touch Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart, but I was wrong. I wouldn’t necessarily count a future gold certification not possible. She will be on LHHATL next week. She’ll be ok.

  13. Cinnamon Girl March 28, 2016

@Cassandra Chen, Adele is actually doing amazing numbers and change is not necessarily good. This shady streaming business and record companies buying platinum plaques for their artists shows you how deeper and deeper the music industry is sinking

  14. True Lambily March 28, 2016

I have never like her voice can’t “Raise a man” was aight she just don’t do IT for me

  15. ???Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??? March 28, 2016

Wait. So how are y’all able to get through the album when the opening track is “Mindful”? I just can’t do it.

    • Yorgo March 28, 2016

hfowhiofhwrugwuorhfuwehfuwf LMAO CHILE DO IT!!! Replace mindful with the bonus tracks, they are so good 😛

  16. E Young March 28, 2016

K Michelle needs to make better quality music. Most of her songs sound the same. She has a great voice, but at times it sounds like she straining her voice. I think she needs to work other writers like Neyo, The Dream, and Sean Garret. Maybe they can help her grow as an artist. Currently waiting for Keyshia Cole to drop some music.

    • #JACKIE March 28, 2016

AWBAH was higher quality than anything those has beens you named could ever produce!

  17. Yorgo March 28, 2016

First off, i just wanna say the album is OUTSTANDING! Not as phenomenal as AWBAH (but what album is? none lol). As for the sales, this is very disappointing for her, considering she previously opened up with 72k & 87k. Hopefully her reality TV promo can pick up sales & projections go up, as Gwen’s went up 20k i believe. So 75k is still possible!

  18. Yorgo March 28, 2016

How perfect is “if it ain’t love”- OMG my fave song of all time!!!!!!! “All i got” & “sleep like a baby” are prefecton too!!! OMG make the bed is a smash waiting to happen, & “memphis” & life i know are outstanding country songs!

  19. Yorgo March 28, 2016

YIKES AT JILL SCOTT OUT-SELLING MY FAVE…. JILLY FROM PHILLY GETTING THOSE CHECKS… DAYUMM HOW HER FANBASE STILL SO BIG? I love some of her songs (a long walk slays) but as an artist… idk K is better imo

  20. YOUR MADGEsty March 28, 2016

Wasn’t this heaux suppose to be releasing a Pop and/or Country record?

    .

    THE BACKTRACK.

    .

Anyway, these sakes are a good look for a former ratchet-reality TV star. Git Dem Coinz, gworl! 😉

    • Yorgo March 28, 2016

She presented a country album to the label & they were like “GRIL WTH BALANCE IT OuT. WHAT WE GONNA DO WITH THAT” haha & K rebelled but agreed in exchange for an upcoming country EP. Also this is her LAST R&B album. After this will be country albums. “If it ain’t love” is gonna be sent to country as a single! So the transition is happening! They also gave K her own record label! She has to sig 2-3 artists per year

      • Beyond Amazing (Cause Bey Really Is!!!) March 28, 2016

How did you receive this information?

      • Yorgo March 28, 2016

@beyond amazing I’ve been listening to her most recent interviews 🙂 On some radio station where she mentioned beyonce. Also huffington post & essence & at this album listening session party thingy she had

  21. Theman March 28, 2016

Lol, don’t bring the “GREAT” Mariah into this. She has sold albums like no other. Her last album sold a few more copies than what K Michelle’s is expected to sale. Not to mention that MC is an Icon.

  22. Cinnamon Girl March 28, 2016

@Cassandra Chen oh sweetie, bless your heart., You and the folks that upvoted you have no clue. If an artist writes and/ or produces their own songs they will get money from album sales. They will not rely on tours to make money

    • Cassandra chen March 28, 2016

That’s a given, but real money are made from Tour, how many artists write and produce their own music. And we all know hits are not easy to come by especially in RNB Endorsement also help artists. They all would be starving from album sales alone..lol

    • Stacy Robinson March 28, 2016

Artists tour to make money they don’t get much from album sales and a lot of artists don’t write and produce their album!

  23. Rebelhive March 28, 2016

I’m proud of K! No b**** on love and hiphop any franchise even came close to her success! She is being honest about her numbers! She can just buy albums like others, or got her sponsor jack Daniels to buy 100,000 copies instead of paying her

  24. Quentin Parker March 28, 2016

Haters stop hating this was a solid album that debut sales did way better than Monica Code Red Tamar calling all hearts and Ciara Jackie….. Enough said

  25. Rihanna Royalty March 28, 2016

K Michelle fantasia Jennifer Hudson jazmine Sullivan Kelly Rowland, Clara, keyshia cole kerry hilson tweet Ashanti, brandy monica will always be the lackluster girls of r&b…. They all need several seats. When will these girls wake up and realize we are in a Beyonce and rihanna type of world, yo… The Grammy committee don’t even recognize their name on the awards ballots, nor will they ever get a chance to grace such a prestigious award show as the Grammy’s, I mean maybe Jennifer, but other than that these girls don’t sell records to even be invited to billboard american or peoples choice award shows, these lack lusters will only perform at bet awards, bet honors soul train, black girls rock, and the bet awards America ain’t checking for none of them girls. They make mediocre music that doesn’t appeal to the mainstream, so y’all keep hoping and wishing. Don’t hold ya breath… Beyonce and rihanna can wipe these wack @$$ girls one by one all by themselves, how many billboard hot 100 hits does these girls have…. NONE, these late b!che’s better bow down to beyonce and rihanna and get on their good side

    • Ciara got that fiyah March 28, 2016

Keyahia cole and Ciara have hits, Certifications and plaques. Ciara also has a Grammy. Just saying….

      • Rihanna Royalty March 28, 2016

Since when girl, in your drems

    • Ann March 28, 2016

YOU ARE SUCH A DUMB ASS! Bey and Rih also Nicki sure there on top of the popularity chain but as with Whitney, Janet who were also pop royalty there was still those rnb/pop girls who sold records in that era! RNB ALWAYS SOLD LESS! I REALLY believe the streaming/billboard system definitely doesn’t help. So many artist won’t be heard because the fix is on to keep Bey,Rih Nicki on top the system is fixed! You don’t get radio spins then yeah no one will check for you. Rap has replaced rnb it dominates black radio also! Kelly Rowland has bb hot 100 success and so does Ciara I don’t like Ciara voice btw And I know Kelly will make the hot 100 again for sure! White Rnb, Rap Music, white pop, streaming all comes down to popularity and when u compete with all other genre, Rnbs small market as always will be left behind! New Rnb singers aren’t even selling albums! Check the charts no blk women are there accept Rihanna and that’s a damn shame!

    • Cinnamon Girl March 28, 2016

    • MiamiBorn305 April 5, 2016

Monica does have a Grammy. Also her Album Still Standing was nominated for Grammys as well. She also has #1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, and #1 Billboard Hip Hop/R&B hits. Plenty of certifications. So do your research and don’t try to down play her success, she’s already a legend.

  26. TeamKeysh March 28, 2016

    Congrats K! #1 R&B album!!!! #BlackLivesMatter ❤?;)

  27. Thando March 29, 2016

Work is currently no.1 on the charts but you still think she sings like a goat, sit it down B****
    .
    .
Don’t drag Tamar’s calling all lovers coz that is a masterpiece pity she couldn’t promote it coz she was sick(I mean seriously sick)

    • Rebelhive April 4, 2016

When her album came out she wasn’t sick! She was on the real and DWTS she got sick like 3 weeks later
