The self-christened elusive chanteuse soared to delightful heights during the latest stop of her ‘Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour’ in Cape Town.
With a setlist comprised of huge hits and lesser known fan-favourites, Mimi aims to please and makes no apologies.
Much to the delight of her ever loyal lambs, the SA stop of the trek saw Carey add ‘Fly Like A Bird’ – from ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ – to the setlist.

Absolutely still love this song (even though I no longer believe in the message they way that I use to). Anyway her voice still has the same beautiful tone but obviously the years of singing has had a toll on the power that her voice once had. Still enjoyed hearing her sing it.
One of the few national treasures from the 90’s we have left it is great to see after all the twists and turns MC has experienced in recent years I am glad to see she getting things back on track as far as confidence and her vocal capabilities. Bravo Mariah!!!

Wow I had forgotten we still had the South Africa concerts! It´s weird that just yesterday I was thinking she had left out of her tour Fly like a Bird (a song she was still singing in her concerts in her shows in Australia in 2013). Going to check it out right now!

Mariah Carey, the voice of a generation! I’m so happy her confidence and voice is coming back. Life can sometimes get in the way. Nice to see her happy again.

First off, she looks sooo good! That’s what loving and taking care of yourself will do for you. This is the best she’s sounded in recent years and Fly Like A Bird is one of my favs from the TEOM album. Mariah may have had her off days (and there’ve been many) but you can’t deny she is a true gift to the music world. She’s perhaps one the last true Pop SUPERSTARS from her era. Just as Prince’s untimely death last week showed, you NEVER when one of our legends could leave us so we should make it a point to give them their flowers while they’re still with us. I’m really happy to see her get her groove back.
