Beyonce‘s latest album ‘Lemonade’ saw her honour her Southern roots with the Country cut ‘Daddy Lessons.’

Co-produced by Derek Dixie, the number has found a friend in the Dixie Chicks who were so impressed by it that they have added it to the set list of their latest live show!

Their version of ‘Lessons’ arrived after Reba McEntire covered Bey’s ‘If I Were a Boy’ and before the entertainer continues to rock fans with her ‘Formation World Tour.’

Watch below…

Awesome!

What do you make of Bey’s brief foray into Country?

The fact she has lead Production on the song is awesome!!! The song was brilliant for someone who’s never ventured into such territory. Her voice is just so versatile. I was getting my life at the review’s for it. The best one was “Where’s Bey’s CMA at? No seriously!” Lol! I can’t with my Fav slaying like this!!!

They did an amazing job. Bey has proven again how versatile she is. She learned from the greats.
Beyonces work ethic and dedication she puts into craft amazes me.

Yes! Thank you for posting this David! The country music industry were trying to criticise ‘Daddy Lessons’ and claim it wasn’t authentic enough, but now they are suddenly accepting the song after Dixie Chicks did their rendition. It’s all bigotry, because country music was created and spearheaded by Black people, and yet it is now completely whitewashed. Music is for everyone to enjoy, regardless of their race ??.

Hope Bey gets a country Grammy for this!

Can she? Doesn’t she needed to release it as an official single along with a video?

      • Annalise May 3, 2016

Depends on whether she wants to release it as an official single or not. All of Lemonades tracks are in the Billboard hot 100 (11 in the top 50), and apparently she might send all of the songs to radio… So it may qualify. I assume she will cut down the film into music videos for whichever performs the best.

Completely agree with you. Im SO sick of white people. They colonize and steal EVERY damn thing. Theyre always making these horrible acoustic covers of black music on youtube and im getting pissed. white people hate other peoples culture until THEY participate in it(i.e. adele, justin bieber, etc.)

I respect these chicks. They were very brave in a time when America was acting like in its most retarded way in history with Bush as president. I´m glad they overcame that in big fashion with grammys giving them the big awards and all that. Sometimes it is necessary to make a real statement and grammys did it in that occasion.

I hope she can gain some rock, alternative and country fans through this album. Oh, I’m so surprised that this country song by Beyonce is slaying 99% of other country songs released in the UK, it currently in the top 40.

So, Lemonade is number one in US,UK, Canada,Australia,Netherland, Ireland, Belgium. No 2 in New Zealand, No.3 in Germany if I’m not wrong, No.6 in Italy and 7 in France. Also no.2 in Sweden I think.

    US Billboard 200
    #53 BEYONCÉ (120 weeks)
    #143 IASF(110 weeks)
*Beyoncé has no longevity. Her sales are frontloaded. Rihanna is a marathon seller *looks for MOTS, AGLM, GGGB, RR, LOUD, TTT and UNA, can’t be found*

Don’t start the Beyonce vs. Rihanna b*******! It’s tiring after the 20th post.

This coming from a Beyonce fan!

Let Beyonce have her moment, likewise for Rihanna. You only mention others when there’s a threat. Young stans do the most!!!

  10. cocobutta May 3, 2016

    Legends of the game.
Bey executed this song soooo well.

Portions of the Country community was only trying to down play the song due to portions of the media trying to over exaggerate Beys black political messages when majority of the album is relationship focus.

The truth is the body of work could not be denied above people trying to use Beys name to be a trending topic
