In honour of her gainful relationship with fashion Beyonce was presented with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award yesterday evening.

Celebrated for her support of the field by way of her career in music, the performer used her acceptance speech to honour her grandmother, mother and uncle for introducing her to its power and urged designers to recognise the importance of racial diversity.

Her speech was delivered before her daughter Blue Ivy, her aforementioned mother and husband of eight years Jay-Z before she hits the road to complete her ‘Formation World Tour.’
