Kanye West is ever outspoken and lived up to his billing moments ago on Twitter.
The rapper turned human megaphone this time shared his view on the on-going battle between streaming platforms – with specific reference to Apple and Jay Z‘s TIDAL.
Yeezy, along with acts such as Rihanna and Coldplay, signed on as a part-owner in Jigga’s company.
And despite a number of high-profile exclusives (the most notable being Beyonce‘s ‘Lemonade’), the service lags by quite a margin behind market leader Spotify and Apple Music.
With the latter reportedly in talks to buy TIDAL, it seems Ye’s words are timely and perhaps provide an insight into the status of negotiations.

Hmm.
On the one hand, the whole thing is comical because it’s clear Kanye’s irritation stems from the commercial downside of being on Team TIDAL.
Yet, as much as we root for the underdog and maintain that there is mileage in the TIDAL concept, it has been jarring to see so many releases marred by Jay and co trying to make “fetch” happen.
If indeed Apple are making a play, we hope something happens soonish. Because we’re not sure we can stomach the notion of more LP’s being TKO’d by an ambitious idea that won’t ignite.
We suspect coins and percentages are an issue in the supposed hold up, especially given that TIDAL’s selling-point has always been the higher returns for the artist.
Whatever the case, interesting times lay ahead.

Rihanna was complaining too until Beyonce’s husband came through to save the day for “Anti”. “Lemonade” is a perfect example how a album can be release to Tidal and be successful! Jay-a keep Tidal, if artist no longer want to be on the roster they can sell their part and leave!

Jay Z gave part ownership to soooo many artists because, politically, YouTube, Spotify,iHeart Radio, etc.were all doing the same thing and NOT paying the artists as much as Tidal is paying their artists. When the powers that be found out about this they trashed Tidal in the media but then they all turned right around and did the EXACT same thing as Tidal(YouTube Red for example)

So I just got back on Apple Music, after having Tidal for 3 months (I literally only got it for Beyonce’s 6th Album because I knew it would be an exclusive for a short amount of time).

Honestly, I prefer Tidal. Even without a Hi-Fi streaming subscription, the download/streaming time is so much faster than Apple Music (even though Apple music has a bigger database of music). It’s a lot easier to store the music on my devices + theres some stupid glitch on AM where you can lose all your music if you turn your iCloud off. The only thing Apple Music has over Tidal is that it has ITunes to fall back on, plus the layout of the music library is alot cleaner and sleeker than Tidals. Why not just merge the two and have the best of both.

Marketing Tidal as being like a charity for musicians was where they really F’ed up. If I think a musician put out an outstanding body of work, then I am going to buy a physical copy regardless of whether I stream it. Why should I give a flying f*** if they profit more from Tidal than any other streaming platform? They are already filfthy stinking rich!

YES hunnie! I had my reservations about it at first, but the exclusives were what brought me in and tbqh it is A LOT better than Apple Music in terms of streaming quality.
The most subscription Tidal has gotten was when Anti and Life Of Dillldo dropped. After my 60 day trial was up from Rihanna and Samsung gifting me Anti, I went right back to Spotify. Only because they had a 3 months for the price of one. That’s how competition works. Glad Rihanna left that mess alone. They tried and it didn’t work, end of it.

If anyone is the blame for Anti leaking, it’s Roc Nation. If Rihanna was smart, she would leave that P1ss pot and leave the Carters with yet another failed company under their belt.
