I love Britney. I entered and enjoyed my late t***/early adult years alongside Britney. She and i are the same age. HOWEVER, at this point, Britney has lost the magic and “it” factor that solidified her star in the beginning. She is not looked at as being the talented artist or dancer, now 18 years in the game that someone of Madonna’s stature at her 18 year mark was reaching. Britney has become a slither of her former self and continuing to release new music, paired with the same, conventional music video has become a tired and less than welcomed act. Her styling, look, sound, voice, staging, choreography and overall persona has not evolved with the times. I appreciate that she performs these residency showcases over in Vegas, but quite honestly, thats where she needs to stay. Live upon the solid hits that frame her stellar catalogue, because the new music aint happening.

People don’t understand that this is a PROFESSION. Everyone keeps bringing up she isn’t the same girl. Why can’t we support someone who is doing what she can and building herself back up. Have you seen 2016 Britney compared to 2008-20014? It’s a remarkable difference. She isn’t here for ANYONE but her fans. She doesn’t care about records, sales, being the front page of every news story, she has evolved into a mother who is finally comfortable again in her own way. She is ridiculously busy and if she’s happy why can’t you be? If Picasso didn’t create the ‘same’ artwork you would just dismiss him and tell him to stop? If the worlds best architect wasn’t making the SAME or contrived pieces you would just tell her to stop making projects? The problem with today is close minded people like yourself and countless others. “Out with the old and in with the new.” I am here for Britney and so proud of her. To have 9 solid studio albums six of which went to number 1. 200 million records sold, why would she stop? Why?

they are! “slumber party” on an album released by a 34 year old mother of two?

      • Don’t even August 20, 2016

Yet Beyoncé can sing about a surfboard as a mother? Madonna can sing ‘b**** I’m madonna’? Fall back sweetie

  9. JESUSHCHRIST August 20, 2016

I wouldnt call 12 songs “generous”

That should be the bare minimum requirement to release

I remember when albums used to have 15-18 tracks…

  10. JOHNVIDAL August 20, 2016

Well, there´s one positive thing I can think about Britney right now. She doesn´t rely on constant collabos and features to stay relevant and bring more power to her name/new release.

She’ll go gold easily in less than six months with streams. Her successful comeback has arrived.

I’ll be laugh so hard when she sells 4 times more than some people’s faves, and gets another top 2 album! Y’all keep seething whist your dusty faves dream of Britney’s legacy. Bye.

This may flop, people saying promo, but Britney haven’t promoted an album since In The Zone. All the albums after (minus the VMA mess) sold off her name alone. But they did have hits on them and the first singles did go #1 (minus Jean). All I’m saying, the no promo/sell off the name trick doesn’t last long. Hint Kanye, so watch out Beyonce.

    • JOHNVIDAL August 20, 2016

Well at least they were able to sell based on the “prestige” of their names alone for a pretty long time, something your favorite Rihanna could never do (hell she struggles with all the promo in the world, when she was younger and now too). I doubt Beyonce will flop harder than Rihanna anytime soon despite the non exitant promo for all her last albums like you say. She keeps on selling more despite no promo vs Rihanna and her hits and promo at the present actually 🙂 Truth is all of them were true album sellers at one point of their careers at least 🙂

      • kiki August 20, 2016

Not true at all, her albums are always among the best selling. Loud sold 5.6 million in 1 year and a month, how is that not impressive, especially for a 2010s album? Not to mention that it sold more than any Mariah album in the UK (her highest is Music Box – 1.5 million, Loud is nearing 2 million) and overall Rihanna has sold more albums there than Mariah despite fewer albums and all of them being released in the digital era, not 100 years ago when everyone and their mother was selling shitloads of albums. That is impressive too. What promo did Rihanna do for Anti? She did Brit Awards and BMA, two performances. Beyonce did Super Bowl (she performed Formation) and Bet Awards, two performances as well. For Beyonce, she did Brit Awards, VMA (performed the entire album), Grammys. Why are you so obsessed with Rihanna and why do you hate her so much? What’s your problem? The real ki is that Anti will end up being more acclaimed than any Mariah album (not that it’s hard to achieve it since Mariah is crtitically panned and considered trash and rightfully so since her music is boring, cheesy, pathetic, crngeqorthy, generic, bland, repetitive, predictable, hollow, overplayed). Umbrella snatched all of her songs long time ago. Oh, and the other ki is that your other fave Celine, despite selling millions and millions of albums has zero impact on pop culture (proof that sales mean nothing). Hell, according to you Rihanna is untalented, yet more girls try to emulate her singing style with accent than anything Celine does vocally. The other kii is that even Celine tried to do it with Loved Me Back To Life, but failed since the song flopped. Even a non-singer like Janet has more vocal impact than that lipsyncing mess.

      • JOHNVIDAL August 21, 2016

WOW your comment is so FULL of stupidity is not even funny. So what if you can give a couple of examples of Rihanna selling good? LOL Mariah Carey? LMAO Do you really want to go there? Are you comparing Rihanna´s album sales to Mariah´s? LMAO Celine? Rihanna vocally what? LMAO More vocal impact than Celine? Are you pucking high or something? Wow just Wow.

Last but not least, my comment was a reply to a comment by a Rihanna stan who admitted Beyonce has sold on name alone (and Britney and Kanye) and doing little promo. He said it, not me. And to be honest he was right. Rihanna cannot sell based on her name alone. Despite you not wanting to face the truth, her sales have always been basic compared to the amount of promo and teh constant hits she has everywhere. The others sell/sold more without all that non stop support. Like I said, it is happening as we speak. Rihanna´s first week sales are basic always, now and before. It´s only due to the constant push of commercial singles that end giving her relevance in the long run. I wasn´t even shading her really. But you really tried it with your absurd comment. Leave the buble once and for all and realize Rihanna is a talentess joke. Only some of her stans can see this great vocals and all that LMAO

Been a Britney fan since Baby One More Time. But let’s face the truth as Britney fans. With the exception of “Make Me”, the other “singles” she’s released have sounded like album fillers (“Private Show”, “Clumsy”, “Do You Want To Come Over”. Bitney Spears was a trend setter in many ways and set the sound for a lot of pop records in her peak. Even though “Make Me” was a different sound, and had the potential (with the right video and promotion) to become bigger than it was/is, it just wasn’t diiferent enough from the slow pop that’s on the radio now. When the album comes out, listen to the song “What You Need”. The song is different, had HUGE POTENTIAL as a first hit and needs to be an offical single ASAP. I’m sure it’ll be a fan favorite from the start. For those that get the deluxe version, “Better” & “Liar” will probably be the standout tracks. For Britney to be back on top again she’s gonna have to step up her promo game and her single selection. Even on Britney Jean they left the best songs on the deluxe version and never released any as singles. In today’s music market, singles sell. Albums don’t. She needs the right songs, and this album has a few. “Make Me” was a good start but the songs afterwards haven’t been a good look. I’m hoping for “What You Need” as the next single.
