Yeah, the summer may almost be over, but that hasn’t stopped former Danity Kane frontwoman D∆WN from bringing the heat. This time, the songstress has given the visual treatment to fan favorite ‘Cali Sun.’
Getting by with a little help from friend Rob Coin, the eccentric singer took to Rolling Stone to unveil an animated clip in support of the tune. She tells the mag:
“I’m excited to go back to animation,” she said. “I started in animation with my own comics and drawing, and even the Danity Kane name came from a character I created in high school.”
Coming as her latest innovative trip into visual territory (after the virtual reality-inspired ‘Not Above That’ released in June and launching YouTube’s first live 360-degree performance), tuck in below to see the blazing ‘Sun’ D∆WN’s delivering:
For once I would like for her to make something with a damn hook or melody I can sing along too!!!!!! I appreciate her artistic creativity. you can never call her generic ! Dope video !
I really liked “Not Above That.” It’s kind of sing-alongish.
But I agree. I’m getting bored without any catchy hooks.
If you want to hear a hook she just released a entire r&b/hip hop EP “Infared” How I get it is very urban and honest is very r&b and everything else.
Her voice is stunning on this track!
She must have a big audience she releases more music than Keri, brandy, Kelis, Ashanti, Alicia… Who’s buying this? It’s sooooo boring!!
Kelis is an actual artist , who puts thought into her projects …. and brings something new everytime .
Dawn just tries too hard …
How exactly does she try to hard? Really don’t understand that
Damn she’s still trying…
I can appreciate her hustle! She stay givin us new music.
Dawn doesn’t give up. lol. I never understand what any of her music is about. Complicated for no reason.
Do you actually listen ? lol its not that hard to figure out
Why ain’t she signed to a label and nice song
