If the chart performance of ‘Perfect Illusion’ is any indication, Lady Gaga‘s fifth album, ‘Joanne,’ has much to worry about.
The song – used to kick off the singer/songwriter’s official fifth era – made a moderate #15 debut, a feat (many argued) was due to the absence of a music video to support it. Once the video did make its premiere to mixed critical review, it seemed to have the reverse intended effect. The song dropped out of the top 40 its second week then out of the top 50 its second week.
Now, much to the chagrin of her devoted #LittleMonsters, the tune has plummeted even further down charts…

Lol at the high level of expectations set by the queen of the charts-Rihanna. Apparently she’s the only artist whose entire single releases from her album are expected to be top 10 or top 5 on the charts. She already slayed 3/4 if the year so LOTB doesn’t even have to chart high yet I predict it will chart higher than beylowthecharts music.
This was her chance to show these pop girls who the real queen was. But it was all a perfect illusion folks. And from the album snippets I’ve heard, sounds like she’s got an even bigger dud on her hands. It seems Troy Carter left with all her talent, cos right now, she’s lost and no one has time to wait for her to be found.
PREDICTION: After Joanne flops, she will change her name to Stefani and claim Lady Gaga is now an old act that she doesn’t feel connected to.

Exactly. Wheteher a few like it or not, she was the one bringing something new. Another fact is that she brought the big excitement for music videos back around 2009-2011 in a way we hadn´t seen since the 80s and 90s. She peaked so quick and early, but that doesn´t take anything away from her, and it´s obvious she´s onto having a long quality career judging by the route she´s taking. Commercially no, but her talent prevails and keeps being booked.

The fame monster as well as born this way were really great albums. Honestly the gimmicks were fine because musically she was bringing it. But the music just has been trash. I will say this though perfect illusion is not bad I like it.

Anyway, we know Gaga is not going to top the Hot 100 anytime soon (or ever again). From what we know about the album she´s definitely not going for that. Many people have moved on but so has she. Gaga was not a singles artist. She was having as much success with album slaes as with singles. In fact, hasn´t The Fame sold more units than any Beyonce album ever? A different story is that she is not having commercial success anymore. But when she has it, she isn´t a singles artists. Same as Beyonce. Both beyonce or Gaga would have sold like crazy (albums) with a long running #1 hit in the hot 100 (unlike others). They are not singles artists.
