When the 11th annual Billboard Women In Music event hits New York City this winter, royalty will be present.
The seven-time Grammy winner will receive the honor at the 11th annual Women in Music event, held Dec. 9 in New York City and airing nationally on Lifetime on Dec.12. They’re weird bc they choose the most random years to do these things for certain ppl

Like for instance I would’ve expected her to be one of the first they honored

Why is she after ci, Gaga etc?

What makes her woman of the year 2016 if she wasn’t it 2008 or 2012, years she had albums

  2. #BeyHiveAttack October 15, 2016

    Queen

She hustled hard like Beyonce and she deserves it

  3. Yes October 15, 2016

    U betta work grandma!

  4. Gabe October 15, 2016

Madonna does not get the love she deserves. She has paved the way for the last 30 years and is the biggest selling female in history.

    • FAF October 16, 2016

      How @ gabe
      madonna is far from underrated

  5. Truth(yaaasss honey) October 15, 2016

    Why??

  6. FC/JC October 15, 2016

Queen of purchasing achievements and status.

    • #BeyHiveAttack October 15, 2016

      She’s a certified legend.

It’s not like she needs any more accolades ?

34 year’s in the game!! That’s longevity! Congratulations Madonna!

  8. Thando October 16, 2016

34 years as a solo female artist in the game, 65 million certified albums sold (TWO of them diamond, not these inflated numbers), a billion dollars+ in tour gross (virtually untouched female touring titan), 3 of the greatest albums ever recorded (True Blue, Like a Virgin & Ray of Light), the best selling compilation album by a solo artist of all time, multiple Billboard chart records (all those top 10 hits, all those dance chart entries etc etc etc) AND the greatest “F*** YOU” attitude by any artist. These numbers aren’t cooked, they’re all on the scoreboard.
The title of Queen doesn’t come close. One of a very few people to whom the word ICON genuinely applies.

Not you giving Confessions (Madge’s Magnum Opus) the cold shoulder.

    • JOHNVIDAL October 16, 2016

      Thando
But then here you have a couple of Rihanna fans who believe Rihanna is bigger than what Madonna has ever been 🙂 🙂 🙂

  9. Danzou October 16, 2016

She can’t sing so I’m not impressed.

    • JOHNVIDAL October 16, 2016

Coming from a Rihanna stan? lmao At least Madonna can perform, own a stage, play some instruments and is responsible for the innovation throughout her career in big proportions. Not a puppet who is given songs.

  10. Meme October 16, 2016

I beg to differ severely. This was Beyoncé and Rihanna’s year.

  11. OMG Logic!!! October 16, 2016

    Congratulations. Well-deserved.

Yes we all know all these awards are bought. But Madonna deserves something like this, now or years ago. Her status was well earned. After being such a big force and icon for the first part of her career then she was able to “come back” with more critical acclaim than ever and also rare success for a woman in her late 30s and 40s with 4 phenomenal albums back to back from 1998 (Ray of Light) to 2005 (Confessions). Her career is amazing and she has actually had something to do with it if you know what I mean 🙂

Weird bc they normally give it the women who were the most successful that year, not just to give it out. ciara, katy perry and fergie all got this award, so is it based on that year’s achievements or is it like a legends awards? i am just confused. taylor swift was honored twice. but hey, good job
