2016 Year In Review: Ciara Wins Again

Published: Sunday 25th Dec 2016 by Rashad

Scribbled in history books for some good and not-so-good reasons, 2016 brought with it some of modern music’s most memorable moments.  Now, as the year draws to a close, TGJ is reflecting on 31 moments that rocked – and to some degree shaped – the Urban and Pop musical landscape as we know it.

Next, let’s recount the Ws of one of Urban music’s most prized stageblazers:  Ciara

There’s no way to slice it:  2015 was a tough year for R&B stageblazer Ciara.

The ‘1, 2 Step’ singer – whose 2015-released sixth album ‘Jackie’ garnered the lowest first week sales of her career to date (read more here) – also saw her name in headlines more for battles with former fiance Future than for rendering chart-topping hits.  Yet, while the future of her musical endeavors seemed bleak, late 2015 saw a turnaround in the singer/songwriter’s social status (a feat that would prove itself the perfect setup for 2016).

Now, as we near 2017, we can look back and see our girl Cici had a damn good year.  Look below to recount her many W’s:
