Full Circle: Sevyn Streeter Soars At 76’ers Game With National Anthem

Published: Saturday 17th Dec 2016 by Sam

Sevyn Streeter made headlines back in October when she was dramatically pulled from singing the US National Anthem at a 76ers basketball game. A move she says was due to her “#BlackLivesMatter” attire.

According to the singer, the episode happened just minutes before she was set to perform.

After receiving all sorts of critique, the team’s execs invited the singer back to perform as she intended.

Last night, she did exactly that – and wore a “Black Lives Matter” for extra emphasis.

Watch her resonating rendition of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ below…

She did that!

Given the seductive coo that defines most Sevyn singles, folk could be forgiven for forgetting that she really has pipes and technique. A potent pair of talents.

Slaying in her BLM ensemble was a great exclamation point too.

I need to hear more of these kind of vocals from her. That was outstanding!

This was great! I think a key to great renditions of this song are time and appropriate pauses. She sounded great, however there were times she needed to acknowledge a full pause and breath. It sounded rush. Nonetheless, she still did well.

I agree. It sounded rushed but she has a nice voice.
