Report: Camila Cabello To Sign With Sony

Published: Saturday 24th Dec 2016 by David

Camila Cabello‘s defection from Fifth Harmony has done little to damage her relationship with bosses at the group’s label Sony Music Entertainment.

In fact, a new report posits that they’re on course to offering her a lucrative solo recording contract.

Good news below…

The entertainer stepped away from the group last week and found herself battling her former bandmates publicly as both sides blamed the other for surprising them with the breakup.

Fortunately, none of this has sullied Simon Cowell’s and Sony’s opinion of Cabello.

The Sun reports:

A source close to Sony said: “Simon really believes in Fifth Harmony going forward and is supportive of everyone involved.

“Simon met the girls on X Factor USA and he gave them the opportunity to be in Fifth Harmony together and the girls in the group appreciate the incredible success they’ve achieved and they have lots of plans for the future together.

“Camila has a very good relationship with both Simon and LA Reid  (who runs Epic Records) and she knows both of them are very supportive and believe in her.”

Moving forward Simon is keen to support all of the girls and it is expected Camila will continue working with Syco and Epic on solo material.

Put simply, Fifth Harmony is to share a label with the ex-member they are now feuding with.

In a statement announcing confirming her departure she revealed:

I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing. The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true. Just like the other girls said in their statement about their plans, I had also planned to continue with my own solo endeavors in the new year but I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way.

She added:

As sad as it is to see this chapter ending this way, I will continue to root them all on as individuals and as a group, I wish nothing but the best for them, all the success in the world and true happiness.

Her statement came in response to…

You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, and with your love and support, we will continue on. That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us- Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.”

We are excited for our future, and we can’t wait for what the new year brings. Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all of our heart.

Can you see Camila soaring under Sony?
